The theme of the 2006 event is “Investing in Europe's Regions and Cities: Public and Private Partners for Growth and Jobs” and the event will, for the first time, feature an “Investors' Café” aimed at bringing together business investors and decision-makers from local and regional government. The 2006 OPEN DAYS, which include a further 70 local events across Europe, are organised by the European Commission's Regional Policy Directorate-General and the Committee of the Regions, along with 135 regions and cities as main partners. The event is supported by the European Parliament and the Finnish EU Presidency, as well as leading blue-chip companies, the banking sector and civil society organisations.
