Hello everyone! Today we're starting a new unit in natural science. It is called 00:00:01
materials. What are materials? Materials are the things we use to make other 00:00:10
things. Very clear, right? Okay, I'll show you. This is a book, right? A book is made of paper, 00:00:20
okay? You see, this material is paper. What else is made of paper? Okay, a notebook. A 00:00:38
A notebook is made out of paper, like this one, you see? The book is made of paper. Now, what about this? This is a napkin, okay? It's used to clean your mouth after you eat. 00:00:52
It's made of paper as well. Okay. Now, another material. Here we've got a fork. Okay. This is a fork. And this fork is made of metal. Okay. Metal is the second material we use to make things. Okay. 00:01:16
This box, for example. See it? It's also made of metal. Alright. Another fork. What is this fork doing here? This is not a very good fork. 00:01:51
Okay, it is a plastic fork. Okay, sometimes we use it when we go to eat outside, in a camping, and so on and so forth. This is not very good for the environment. Okay, not good. 00:02:21
But plastic is very common to make things. Okay, for example, a plastic bottle, okay, like this one, or another plastic bottle. 00:02:40
We can also find a ruler made of plastic. And even a pen is made out of plastic. Okay? Good. 00:02:56
Now, we've seen plastic, metal, and paper. 00:03:15
Okay, now let's turn into another material. 00:03:29
What does this, which is a pencil, and this have in common? 00:03:36
They are made out of wood. Wood comes from the tree, right? This is wood, and this is wood, okay? 00:03:44
This is wood to make pencils, to make chairs, to make desks, to make tables, to make shelves in your room, to put your books in, etc. 00:03:58
Now, another type of material. This material is cold and very fragile. You can break it very easily. 00:04:13
glass okay glass is another type of material to make glass right or bottles 00:04:25
like a bottle of water or a bottle of wine for parents the last type of 00:04:39
material is very soft and nice and comfy it is fabric like this t-shirt fabric makes clothes 00:04:49
tape, in t-shirts, or in pillows to sleep, or in cushions, okay? Very nice and soft. 00:05:11
Okay, let's see if we remember the six types of materials that we have seen today, okay? 00:05:26
Okay? Plastic, metal, wood, paper, glass, and fabric. Okay? Do you like my teacher? I love it too. Okay. Thank you very much for watching. Now do the exercises. Bye bye. 00:05:35
