The water fern that is entering the area is not a very well-known plant, but it normally lives in South America. 00:00:11
But in the past few years, it has extended here, in Spain. 00:00:18
You could pass through a lake and not even notice the water ferns. 00:00:22
That's because they are too small, not even more than 5 mm. 00:00:25
But in less than a year, the whole lake would be covered. 00:00:28
The problem with the water trend is that when the air pollutes, which happens very fast, 00:00:32
it creates a dense mud over the lake that pollutes the water. 00:00:35
As you can see in the satellite images, during the last month and the first month, 00:00:39
the aphidia increases because it's cold outside and they die. 00:00:44
Throughout the summer and the end of spring, they increase because they make the photosynthesis faster. 00:00:49
That would be a problem, but not as severe as what happens next, 00:00:56
as it completely blocks the lake from the land. 00:00:59
Oxygen and other useful elements can come in contact with the water, plants and animals. 00:01:02
