Welcome everybody to this unit, unit 5, water and weather. 00:00:01
You know that all living things need water. 00:00:11
Look at the zebras, look at humans, look at sheeps and look at the dog. 00:00:15
But you know that also plants need water. 00:00:21
So remember, all living things need water. 00:00:25
Water has no smell. 00:00:31
I can't smell anything. Water has no taste. I can't taste anything. And water has no color. 00:00:34
Look at the picture. What color is this? Is it white? Is it blue? Is it gray? No, water has no color. 00:00:49
What three forms can water take? It can be solid, liquid and gas. We usually drink 00:00:59
water as a liquid but we can turn it into solid and we can turn it into gas. 00:01:12
How? Let's see it. If we take liquid water and we put it here in the freezer we can 00:01:19
turn liquid water into solid. This is an ice cube and this is solid water. Now what happens if we 00:01:27
heat water? That it turns into gas. Look at here. We have boiling water here. This smoke that we can 00:01:38
see here is gas water okay this is not smoke this is what this is gas water we can find these three 00:01:49
forms of water in nature let's see how this happens look this is liquid water the sun 00:02:03
heats liquid water and turns it into gas water the clouds are gas water the wind makes the cloud move 00:02:11
when they are cold water precipitates into liquid water that is rain or into solid water 00:02:23
that it's snow, okay? Here on top of mountains we can find solid water, okay? Then the water 00:02:33
turns into liquid again and it goes to the seas through rivers and streams, running off and 00:02:44
through round water. Again, we have liquid water here. The sun hits the water, it turns into gas, 00:02:53
then it rains or it snows, we have liquid water or solid water, then it goes again to the seas 00:03:03
in form of liquid water through the rivers and streams, running off and through groundwater, 00:03:12
and it starts again, okay? This is the water cycle. Water is all around us, have you noticed? 00:03:19
most of the water is in the ocean it is salt water this is salt water this is salt water 00:03:29
this is salt water and of course this salt water but water in rivers and in lakes is fresh water 00:03:41
This is the water that we can drink, fresh water. Water in puddles, in ponds, streams 00:03:53
and wetlands is also fresh water. Water is very important for us. Don't let this 00:04:02
happen please, it's very important for us. See you next week, bye bye! 00:04:14
