Hello everyone and welcome to the Debate Club activity infographic. First, some context.

This activity has been specifically designed for the subject of advanced English in a bilingual school,

particularly for the second grade of bachillerato and a group of 24 students

who all have a B2 plus slash C1 level in the foreign language.

The activity is divided into two parts. First, they will watch the documentary and answer a comprehension quiz.

Then they will be divided into groups to prepare and elaborate their arguments for the debate.

The activity is based on the Cooperative Learning Active Method, in which students will be given

a role to develop different skills, so the final product will be a real debate in which

we will deal with the topic of their interest, which is social media, and how it affects

our lives.

They will also learn to respect and even defend different points of view.

Last but not least, the assessment.

Students will be graded on their comprehension of the documentary with a questionnaire.

This mark will be part of the 10% of the portfolio, and then they will be evaluated with a rubric,

which is available in the virtual classroom, on their oral expression skills, which will

be 15% of their speaking percentage of the evaluation mark.
