Gerald was a tall giraffe, whose neck was long and thin, but his knees were awfully crooked, and his legs were rather thin. 00:00:02
He was very good at standing still and matching shoots of trees, but when he tried to run around, he buckled at the knees. 00:00:11
Now, every year in Africa, they hold the Jungle Dance, where every single animal turns up to skip and prance. 00:00:30
And this year, when the day arrived, poor Gerald felt so sad because when it came to dancing, he was really very bad. 00:00:48
The warthogs started waltzing, and the rhinos rock and rolled. 00:01:03
The lions danced a tango that was elegant and bold. 00:01:15
The chimps added a cha-cha with a very Latin feel, and Igua was dancing out for a skinny, scooty run. 00:01:22
Gerald swallowed Griffey and he walked towards the plot, but the lions saw him coming and they soon began to roar. 00:01:33
Hey, look at Clumsy Gerald! The animals all sneered. 00:01:51
You just can't dance, you silly fool! Oh, Gerald, you're so weird! 00:01:58
Gerald simply froze up. He was rooted to the spot. 00:02:02
They're right, he thought, I'm useless, oh, I feel like such a glut. 00:02:16
So he crept up from the dance floor, and he started walking home. 00:02:25
He'd never felt so sad before, so sad and so alone. 00:02:30
Then he found a little queenie, and he looked up at the sky. 00:02:46
The moon can be so beautiful, he whispered with a sigh. 00:02:51
Excuse me, cock the cricket. Put syndrome early on. But sometimes, when you are different, you just need a different sound. 00:02:55
Listen to the swing grass and listen to the trees. To me, the cutest music is those branches in the breeze. 00:03:12
degrees. So, imagine that the lovely moon is playing just for you. Everything makes 00:03:25
music if you really want it to. With that, the cricket smiled and picked up his violin. 00:03:34
Then, Gerard felt his body do the most amazing thing. His horse has started shuffling, making 00:03:52
circles on the ground his neck gently swinging and his tail swinging around he threw his legs 00:04:01
out sideways and he swung them everywhere and he did a bubble somersault and left up in the earth 00:04:13
Gerald felt so wonderful, his mouth was open wide. 00:04:21
I am dancing, yes, I am dancing, I am dancing, yeah, right. 00:04:29
Then, one by one, each animal could be there to dance, alright, while Gerald moved on and watched him get entranced. 00:04:36
They should, it's a miracle, we must be in a dream. 00:04:49
Gerald's the best dancer that we've ever seen. 00:04:57
How did you learn to dance like that? Please, Gerald, tell us how! 00:05:07
But Gerald simply turned around and finished with a bow. 00:05:14
Then he raised his head and looked up at the moon and the stars above. 00:05:23
We all can dance, he said, when we find a music that we love. 00:05:31
