What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming
00:00:12
Welcome to this marvelous report about one of the starting points of the American War of Independence,
00:00:20
the Bunker Hill Battle.
00:00:25
This interesting theme may attract any listener of this podcast
00:00:27
because of its easy way to understand for every range of age
00:00:30
knowledge about history. Also, if you have an exam coming soon, tomorrow, or even in
00:00:33
a few hours, this could help you to pass your test successfully.
00:00:39
We have to introduce this report detailing more about the context of the War of Independence,
00:00:44
how it started, when, and of course the main actors who developed the timeline of these
00:00:48
dark times, but ended happily taking into account the consequences to the American economy
00:00:52
and its population.
00:00:56
The American War of Independence started due to the revolution of the 13th British Colonies
00:00:57
because they were tired of having to pay a bigger amount of taxes
00:01:02
and the prohibition to buy any kind of products to other countries.
00:01:05
So they proclaimed its own independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776.

Later, he was the vice president of the first ever president of the nation, George Washington.

He was later elected as the second president and, after that, he was a U.S. senior diplomat in Europe.

00:01:51
The battle we are most interested in is the Battle of Bunker Hill, June 1775, in Boston.
00:02:04
Before the combat, the province of the Bay of Massachusetts was under martial law and the
00:02:15
soldiers of the British General Thomas Gage were surrounded by American militant directed by the
00:02:23
General Artemas Ward. William Prescott was a United States colonel that commanded the forces. He also
00:02:31
participated in the Saratoja battle and was represented in a painting named
00:02:40
General Burgoyne at Saratoja from John Trumbull. On the night of June 16th he
00:02:45
took 1,500 soldiers to the peninsula. They didn't agree where to locate their
00:02:52
defense but in the end they decided that Bridge Hill was the best place. They also
00:02:59
constructed a huge trench with annexation to the Charles River. The
00:03:05
The British army attacked the construction of the U.S. without permission of the Admiral,
00:03:09
but in the end he agreed with the assault.
00:03:15
They attacked three times until they got the land.
00:03:18
The consequences were that they lost a lot of soldiers.
00:03:21
This was a battle that was very relevant inside the war, I thought it happened in the beginning.
00:03:25
I hope this report was interesting to everyone who spent their time listening to it.
00:03:32
And good luck to the students that have any tests or assignments soon.
00:03:38
Short Assisted Maths, we hope you liked it.
