Good morning, my name is Alberto and I'm 42 years old. 00:00:00

I'm an English teacher at Pablo Picasso High School in Pinto 00:00:11

and I live in a small flat in a big block of flats on the third floor. 00:00:15

My favorite part of the house is the balcony where we can sit 00:00:19

when it's a nice day in the sun to have coffee together 00:00:23

and I live with my family that is made by me my wife who is four years younger than me and together 00:00:27

we have a two years old daughter we don't have pets and that's all about me and my family now 00:00:33

to continue I would like to talk about my high school Pablo Picasso that is located in Pinto a 00:00:40

small town of about 50,000 inhabitants 20 kilometers to the south of Madrid I love the city because I 00:00:46

It grew up here when it was like half of the size it is now. 00:00:52

And the school, when you come in, you first find the main building that is like a two-story house in the shape of an L with a big corridor and then a smaller one where we have most of the classrooms. 00:00:56

We have labs. 00:01:08

We have workshops and computer rooms. 00:01:09

And then we have a big courtyard where we have, for example, a music room, the gym. 00:01:12

We have a smaller place with a few classrooms. 00:01:18

and the meeting hall and then we have the sport areas with football pitches and basketball courts 00:01:22

etc and in terms of a subject my subject now is english but for example i remember when i was at 00:01:28

a high school my favorite subject was history because i was quite good at it and i was quite 00:01:34

interested in it and i had a good memory and i had some very good teachers through my years in high 00:01:38

school and since i studied like six years like so i'm a bachelor i've managed to study 00:01:44

the whole of universal history from prehistory to the modern world like world world the two world 00:01:50

worlds and the whole of history of spain and even history of art now for some time i would like to 00:01:57

talk about my daily routines i wake up quite early normally like because i like to do exercise before 00:02:03

i go to school i have a routine where i mix exercises that i take in from some martial arts 00:02:09

that i did when i was younger and yoga etc then i have breakfast i wash myself and i go to school 00:02:16

where i teach and i prepare lessons and i talk to my colleagues i correct exams etc then i come back 00:02:24

home normally i eat quite late at like 2 p.m 3 p.m even 4 p.m when i come back to school even 00:02:30

in spain normally we have lunch between like 1 p.m and 2 p.m or a bit later depending on the family 00:02:36

and after that i start i have a rest i may read a bit or like watch some videos on youtube and then 00:02:43

i start preparing lessons for the next day when my daughter comes back home i play with her for 00:02:52

with her for some time then i do some more work at like about 7 p.m 8 p.m because like we live 00:02:57

with a small baby we have dinner earlier normally in spain people have dinner at 9 or even later 00:03:03

then if sometimes I need to do some more work sometimes I can have a rest and then normally 00:03:10

I go bed at 11 o'clock I would like to talk a little bit about Spanish foods so I don't have 00:03:16

much time therefore I will only mention the Spanish food that I eat the most often and it's 00:03:23

lentils too when you put like you make a big soup and you with lentils you fry onions and garlic 00:03:28

and you add it in then you add lots of paprika and olive oil and you can add potatoes or carrots 00:03:34

And some people like also to add meat, mostly like chorizo, like sausage or things like that. 00:03:40

It's a delicious food. 00:03:46

And finally, to end with, I thought as the teacher that since we are doing this exchange with a place that is located as high school, 00:03:48

that is located in an area that is internationally well known, 00:03:57

it could be fun to try to get our Spanish students to attempt to describe Hollywood from what they've seen on TV and cinema, etc. 00:04:00

so I will have a go at it first 00:04:07

in my mind Hollywood would be like any other neighborhood of LA 00:04:10

that from what I've heard and read is a big sprawling city 00:04:16

that doesn't have many blocks of flats 00:04:20

so it's mostly one-story houses 00:04:23

like the typical American house that I imagine 00:04:25

that always has a nice garden around it 00:04:30

And then I've always heard about this Hollywood Boulevard that I imagine would be the high street where you get all of the restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. 00:04:33

And I imagine there are like other roads coming off this boulevard and other main streets and avenues where you have nice houses and even some mansions where like big stars and famous actors and actresses and film directors and other professionals. 00:04:45

of the cinema industry would live 00:05:03

and everything would be overlooking 00:05:08

this hyper famous hillside 00:05:09

with the Hollywood sign 00:05:13

with the white letters on it 00:05:14

and that's how I imagine Hollywood 00:05:16

you can tell me whether I'm getting it right 00:05:18

or I'm like getting a completely wrong image 00:05:21

of the distribution 00:05:23

and how the city is like 00:05:25
