Video explicativo de las comunidades Autónomas con subtítulos
Hello everyone. Today we are starting a new unit, but I consider that the most important thing that you need to know about this unit is about how is the organization of the Spanish territory.
00:00:00
So Spain, you know, is our country, it's not so big country, but it's a country and it's divided in 17 autonomous communities plus 2 autonomous cities that are Ceuta and Melilla.
00:00:16
These 17 autonomous communities could be bigger or could be smaller. A good example of these autonomous communities, for example, is the community of Valencia.
00:00:35
So these autonomous communities, each autonomous community is divided at the same time in different provinces.
00:00:52
So there are some autonomous communities with a lot of provinces and there are another one with only one.
00:01:01
A good example of this could be, for example, Valencia. It has 3 different provinces that are Castellón, Valencia and Alicante.
00:01:11
Also, we know the community of Madrid, that there is only one province that is Madrid, but there are also some bigger autonomous communities, like could be Andalusia, that has 8 different provinces.
00:01:20
Every province is divided in different municipalities.
00:01:40
So, for example, Castellón, Valencia and Alicante have some municipalities, like Ardenia, Aldea, Benidorm. So each province has different municipalities.
00:01:45
So that could be the idea. I hope that you have understood.
00:02:00
And which are these 17 autonomous communities? Let's see.
00:02:08
So in the north, this is the map of Spain, and in the north we can find Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country.
00:02:15
If we go to the east, northeast, we can find Navarra, La Rioja, Aragón and in the east we will find Catalonia, the community of Valencia and the region of Murcia.
00:02:29
Then, in the center, we will find the community of Madrid and Castile and León and Castile-La Mancha.
00:02:50
In the west, we will find Extremadura, near to this country that is Portugal, so the Spanish map is without this, that is Portugal.
00:03:02
And in the south, we will find Andalusia, that is so big, with 8 different provinces.
00:03:15
Also, we will find two different archipelagos, that are also autonomous communities.
00:03:26
One is the Balearic Island and the other is the Canary Island.
00:03:35
Finally, we will find two different autonomous cities, that are Ceuta and Melilla.
00:03:44
And that's all! I hope that you have understood and it is important to know which are the autonomous communities.
00:03:57
Your turn now is to know which provinces are in every autonomous community.
00:04:10
Let's learn about this!
