Hi there, we are the teachers of Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente in Casalada and we belong to 00:00:00
the Group 1 of Mentor Activa program. 00:00:21
First thing, we would like to give a big big thank you to Carmen Hernández-Ward, Ciudad 00:00:24
de Jaén, El Quijote and British Council School for having us in their centers and for showing 00:00:29
us their incredible school organization programs and very innovative methods. 00:00:35
We also would like to give a massive thank you to my intellectual program for giving 00:00:41
us the opportunity to get to know all the working methods and approaches of the educational 00:00:44
centers. 00:00:48
It is surprising that we all have the same program but we all do it differently and that 00:00:49
is something very interesting to know. 00:00:54
In all the schools we have been able to see how the environment shapes the teaching action 00:00:57
but also how the educational approaches modifies, adapts and improves the opportunities offered 00:01:01
by the environment. 00:01:06
Without any doubt, the experience has been truly enriching. 00:01:07
We move on to develop the conclusions to which we have arrived after the visits to the different centers. 00:01:12
When we think about the day-to-day of a center, we are not always fully aware of how the environment marks our educational task. 00:01:20
When we live situations, such as the one we lived in the college Ciudad de Jaén that afternoon, 00:01:28
we become fully aware that our educational task must be fully adapted to those students to whom it is directed. 00:01:34
We started the afternoon thinking, many of us, that with the environment as disadvantaged as the one we saw in Orcasur, 00:01:43
maybe it was not so necessary for those children to learn or have a specific English program like the one offered to us by the British Council. 00:01:51
However, as the afternoon progressed, we opened our minds and thought why not, they are going to have this opportunity of bilingual learning, they also deserve it and we must and we have the obligation to offer it. 00:02:00
In addition to this, we realized how important it is to accompany families and children to give them security by the educational team. 00:02:15
Well, that visit that we made through the neighborhood, we saw that the management team was a little more or less part of the families of those students. 00:02:27
In this way, we realize that education in a school is far from being something purely academic. 00:02:36
Our first visit was to Tres Cantos, to the Carmen Hernández Wards school. 00:02:44
From this experience we highlight how important vertical continuity is to ensure the coherence of any project or educational task that we are going to carry out and thus provide quality to our education. 00:02:48
They presented us as something simple the tasks that they were carrying out, the projects that they were carrying out in the houses, the use of TIC in some levels that had replaced the books by technology, and they presented it to us in a simple way. 00:03:02
We all realized that this task is not easy at all and we applaud the collaboration and coordination that this requires. 00:03:16
We also felt a bit of envy for the coordination they have with their town hall. 00:03:24
We would all like to have the support of a town hall that prioritizes the needs of educational centers and the well-being of children. 00:03:30
The visit to El Quijote helped us to give us that push that we needed in the FELIX to believe that learning through projects and cooperatives is possible. 00:03:38
It is a project that we want to implement in our center and that we are working on it. 00:03:48
The presentation was close, simple, we were enthusiastic about many of the strategies used in this center and that were presented to us that day. 00:03:54
day. From the children's team, we highlight the option of seeing primary first as a 00:04:02
appendix to children's, that is, as a bridge course between children's and primary that allows 00:04:07
children to grow little by little and adapt to the new needs of primary school. 00:04:14
And finally, we spoke virtually at the British Council School. At first, 00:04:21
the impressive facilities with which they count were left open-mouthed to us, and as the 00:04:26
visit was evolving, we realized that it is not only about 00:04:31
economic resources, but they have a human team that does their 00:04:35
outstanding work. They highlight the importance they give to sports, 00:04:40
to the arts, to the values that represent the center, to music, which 00:04:47
makes the development of the students be treated in an integral way. To the 00:04:54
teachers who have not had contact with the work methods that exist in 00:04:59
United States, in the United Kingdom, etc. It seemed to us at first a center 00:05:03
quite different from ours. However, as the visit was 00:05:08
advancing and the companions explained their day to day, we realized that 00:05:12
we share many of the strategies both in your center and in ours. 00:05:16
Behavior posters in the classrooms, which in our case are called the 00:05:22
as a congressional improvement for future plans we believe it's very important to maintain 00:05:28
relations between all the british council centers and the support school take advantage of this 00:05:39
program to link it with the private center for future cursors seminars and more we're just a few 00:05:44
british council centers in maville so if we work together we can form a team with similar lines of 00:05:51
work. This experience has helped us not to stop learning, but to realize that our British 00:05:57
neighbors can provide us with new ideas and new working methods. Well, basically, to sum 00:06:03
up, we'd like to say that the time dedicated to this program has been very, very rewarding. 00:06:08
There is no better experience than the acquirement in the classroom by knowing what the other 00:06:14
teachers like you guys do, and it has been very enriching. All of you have taught something. 00:06:18
the innovation of Carmen Hernández Duarte, the humanity of Pilar de Jaén, the consistency 00:06:25
of the learning methods of El Quijote and the relevance of the values of the Briggs 00:06:31
Council School. 00:06:35
With these ingredients and those that we already mentioned before, we will create an educational 00:06:37
cocktail, and of course with no alcohol, to taste it to our students. 00:06:42
Thank you for your generosity and for your opening doors in your classrooms. 00:06:48
your teachers light up the way to our students into a better future thank you so much for everything 00:06:53
and we hope to see you soon bye 00:07:01
