Hello everybody, it's Teacher Katie. I hope you're all having fun at home with your moms and dads 00:00:01
and feeling good and great and wonderful. Today I'm going to read you another new story about 00:00:07
animals who live in the wild. How many animals can you remember? Do you remember this one? 00:00:16
It's an elephant. Do you remember this one? It's a zebra. What about this one? 00:00:26
Monkey. All right, good job. We're gonna pay attention and try to look for those 00:00:45
animals and the other ones we learned in our story today. All right, ready, steady, 00:00:56
Go. Rumble in the jungle. There's a rumble in the jungle. There's a whisper in the trees. 00:01:05
The animals are waking up and rustling the leaves. The hippo is in the waterhole. 00:01:17
The leopard is in his lair. 00:01:29
The monkeys are chattering and swinging everywhere. 00:01:33
Some animals are scary and some are sweet and kind. 00:01:40
Let's go to the jungle now and see what we can find. 00:01:48
Monkey! 00:01:57
It's great to be a monkey 00:01:57
Swinging through the trees 00:02:01
And if we can't find nuts to eat 00:02:03
We eat each other's fleas 00:02:06
Lion 00:02:09
The lion's the king of the jungle 00:02:15
Just listen how loudly he roars 00:02:21
Every animal quivers and shudders and shivers 00:02:26
as soon as he opens his jaws. Elephant. It's great to be an elephant, all big and fat and round, 00:02:31
and wander through the jungle just elfing around. Zebra. I could have been gray like a donkey, 00:02:48
or brown like my cousin the mule, but instead I've got stripes, which my lady friend likes, 00:03:00
as they make me look handsome and cool. Hippopotamus. Hello, I'm a big happy hippo. 00:03:10
I sleep in the sun to get hot, and when I'm not sleeping, I mooch in the mud, 00:03:21
Which hippos like doing a lot 00:03:30
Crocodile 00:03:33
When animals come to the river to drink 00:03:36
I watch for a minute or two 00:03:41
It's such a delight to behold such a sight 00:03:45
That I can't resist 00:03:50
Jumping a few 00:03:52
Rhinoceros 00:03:55
The ravenous rhino is big, strong, and tough 00:04:00
but his skin is all baggy and flappy, which means that there's plenty of room for his lunch, 00:04:05
and that makes him terribly happy. Gazelle. No one can run half as quickly as me, 00:04:14
the galloping gorgeous gazelle. I can leap up so high that my horns touch the sky and I'm awfully 00:04:27
pretty as well. Gorilla. The gorilla is big, black, and hairy and the thing that he likes to do best 00:04:38
is to look all ferocious and scary and wallop his giant great chest. 00:04:51
Leopard. 00:05:03
If you meet a hungry leopard prowling through the night, 00:05:05
make sure you call him sir and be incredibly polite. 00:05:10
Tiger. 00:05:19
Beware of the terrible tiger. 00:05:20
You don't always know when he's near, but his eyes shine like lights through the blackest of nights, 00:05:24
and his growl makes you tremble with fear. 00:05:34
The night has started falling, but the jungle never sleeps. 00:05:41
The vultures circle slowly while the leopard softly creeps. 00:05:50
And if you listen quietly, you might just hear the growl of a hungry pair of panthers who are still out on the prowl. 00:05:56
The lions and their little cubs are sleeping in their den. 00:06:13
So let's leave them until tomorrow when we'll visit them again. 00:06:19
So what animals did we have in that story? Can you think of any? Let's see. We had a monkey, a lion, 00:06:24
lion, an elephant, a zebra, a hippo, a crocodile, a rhino, a gazelle, a gorilla, a leopard, 00:06:43
and a tiger. All right. Good job, everybody. Those are all of our wild animals. So I'll see 00:07:17
you very soon. I hope that everybody stays happy and healthy at home. Goodbye! 00:07:29
