The passive voice is formed in English in the same way as in Spanish, 00:00:22

agente, que en inglés ponemos con la preposición by. In Spanish we say por la niña, in English 00:02:35
we say by the girl. Ok? Ok, let's practice the change from active to passive. Look at 00:02:42
this picture. Do you recognize the story? Yes, Snow White. The wicked queen poisons 00:02:50
the apple. This is the active sentence. La reina malvada envenena la manzana. Let's put it in the 00:02:57
passive. The apple is poisoned by the wicked queen. La manzana es envenenada por la reina 00:03:03
malvada. Let's see another example. What about this story? The Hamelin. Yes, the piper of Hamelin. 00:03:09
Let's see. Look at the active sentence. The rats follow the Hamelin piper. La rata siguen al 00:03:18
flautista de Améline. Let's put it in the passive. The Hamelin Piper is followed by the rats. El 00:03:25
flautista de Améline es seguido por las ratas. Okay, you turn now. Think carefully. Look at this 00:03:32
picture. Do you recognize it? King Kong in New York. Okay, who climbs the skyscraper? Who? King 00:03:40
Kong yes King Kong climbs skyscraper let's transform this sentence into the 00:03:49
passive King Kong climbs the skyscraper is an active sentence because King Kong 00:03:57
is doing an action the action is climb he climbs the skyscraper to transform 00:04:02
this sentence into the passive form remember what do we have to do we move 00:04:08
the words in the sentence so skyscraper goes to the beginning the skyscraper is 00:04:12
climbed we put it into the passive form to be plus the past participle by King 00:04:24
Kong King Kong becomes the agent and goes at the end of the sentence okay so 00:04:30
