Hello. Okay, hello everybody. I'm Valentio Santabarba. And just like all the schools here, we have some very exciting work and projects we want to share with you. But I will let the students present it to you. So with that, the students from Santabarba. 00:00:06
Hello everybody. We are from Santabarba High School and we are going to present our project, Around the World in 80 Days. My name is Mark and I'm in for this. 00:00:25
For our project, we read the book Around the World in 80 Days, we work in different subjects 00:00:35
like history, geography, literature, French, English, music, math, religion, ethics, art, 00:00:56
physical education, natural science. 00:01:04
We also research some information like different cultures, traditions, values, art, music and 00:01:07
different parts of the world for all these projects students worked in a 00:01:12
variety of ways most of the students research about different areas of the 00:01:20
world on the computer and students worked in group and each contributed a 00:01:27
different piece of their project and then we create the poster using our 00:01:32
our artistic and writing skills. Overall we learned that each part of the world is a 00:01:38
little bit different and every region has unique and special 00:01:44
qualities. Everywhere you travel you will find different stories, cultures and also 00:01:48
geography. Our students for first and second ESO work in a multidisciplinary 00:01:54
project in different subjects like history and geography, maths, natural 00:02:01
science and physics and chemistry. They also research information of different monuments, 00:02:06
animals, vegetation, climates and geography of the different parts of the world. 00:02:12
Students in first ESO and second ESO worked on a project in their literature class. 00:02:17
They examined cultural differences and musical instruments from around the world. 00:02:23
Students built instruments from different countries and some students even 00:02:28
learn how to play them. Students in 3rd ESO did a project in their music class about 00:02:36
Jimi Hendrix, the American famous musician and guitarist. First, they 00:02:42
studied and read about the life and journeys of Jimi Hendrix and 00:02:47
Fila Spock, who was the main character in Around the World in 80 days. And after 00:02:52
the research, they made this map and put some information about the different 00:02:56
places they both visited well in our school we have a lot of students that 00:03:00
came from other countries they learn Spanish in our class for Spanish speakers 00:03:05
of other languages and they have made this poster that hangs in our school 00:03:10
lobby during our open house on March 10th students parents and member of the 00:03:14
community came to our school and they had a great opportunity to see our work 00:03:23
and projects about around the world in 1880s. Students from 3rd and 4th ESO did a project about the British 00:03:28
Empire and their history in geography and ethics and religion 00:03:36
classes and after the research they studied their reasons for colonization 00:03:45
and the impact of the colonies in the British Empire. Now I want to share you 00:03:51
some information about some colonies first of all israel israel was conquered by the british empire 00:03:57
in 1917 and became independent in 1948 the resources exploited by the british empire were 00:04:04
natural resources like water and india was was conquered by the british empire in 1612 00:04:14
and became independent on August 15, 1947. 00:04:23
The resources exploited by the British Empire were jute, cotton and opium. 00:04:28
