Good morning guys! Today we are going to study personal pronouns. 00:00:00
Personal pronouns are used to replace nouns in a sentence. 00:00:06
They can refer to people or things and have different forms depending on whether they are a subject or an object. 00:00:10
We are going to study the difference between subject and object pronouns. 00:00:20
They are different subject pronouns. 00:00:25
I, you, he, she, it, you, we and they. 00:00:29
The pronoun used depends on how many nouns it is replacing. 00:00:37
Subject pronouns replace the subject of a sentence. 00:00:43
They are used to avoid repetition or where a name is not known. 00:00:48
Let's see the following example. 00:00:54
Who are they? 00:00:57
They is the subject pronoun. 00:00:58
They are Alex and Mary. 00:01:01
They are teachers. 00:01:03
They, in this case, refers to Alex and Mary and they put they to avoid repetition. 00:01:05
Pronouns can be in singular when there is only one person or thing 00:01:14
or in plural when there is more than one, such as we, you, they. 00:01:20
Object pronouns replace the object of a sentence. 00:01:27
Most of them have a different form from the equivalent subject pronoun. 00:01:32
The object pronouns are me, you, him, her, it, you, us, and them. 00:01:38
Let's see an example. 00:01:47
I give Amy flowers. Amy is the object as we can see the object pronoun of she is 00:01:49
her so I give her flowers. Another example did you touch your phone? Here we 00:02:02
have two personal pronouns a subject pronoun such as you and an object 00:02:11
pronoun like your phone as we can see here your phone is it and it doesn't 00:02:18
change is the same so the answer will be yes I charge it another example did your 00:02:25
little sister delete our emails your little sister is the subject pronoun she 00:02:36
and our emails is the object done so will be yes she because of your little 00:02:44
sister delighted because is in past and dumb because our emails are dumb and 00:02:56
that's everything for today just remember that subject pronouns are used 00:03:05
to avoid repetition and study the pronouns. Bye bye! 00:03:11
