Sobre la sobre explotación de loa acuíferos
Hello citizens, welcome to our newscast. I am Marcos Fernandez. And I am Gabriel.
00:00:00
Today we are going to make a special news about a fire of exploitation.
00:00:07
Nowadays we don't have many resources to eat and drink, but there are still people trying to save the environment.
00:00:12
And these are some of the most recent news.
00:00:19
Yesterday the manifestation of the scarcity of water started.
00:00:23
The farmers are afraid of abandoning because they say they don't have enough water to grow.
00:00:28
And if they can't grow, we don't have food.
00:00:35
And now we will consult with the real citizens to have a conversation about what is happening in this moment in Cochaba.
00:00:38
Hello citizens, may I ask you some questions?
00:00:47
Yeah, sure.
00:00:50
Ok, let's start. Tell me how is your life changing in Cochaba?
00:00:51
Hello, in this area it doesn't rain a lot. The rivers are empty of water.
00:00:54
Almost all the ecosystem has disappeared and when it rains it produces a big flood.
00:00:59
Ok, thanks for your opinion. Bye.
00:01:06
Bye, see you soon.
00:01:09
Now that we know exactly what is happening, let's see how Alex does the special news.
00:01:11
Hello, I am Alex and I am going to explain how has life changed because of aquifer exploitation.
00:01:16
First of all, we need to know what this term means.
00:01:23
Aquifer exploitation is the term in which the average abstraction rate of an aquifer is greater than its recharge rate.
00:01:26
Or in a few words, it's the situation in which we extract water from an aquifer faster than it can recover.
00:01:35
Now that we know what this means, I am going to explain how has life changed because of this.
00:01:42
Life has changed in some ways, one of them being a decrease in groundwater abstraction
00:01:48
and another one being that the system gets affected because of this, like some plants getting dry.
00:01:54
This is caused because of farmers that build wells illegally and excessive agricultural irrigation.
00:02:02
Now we hope you all like our newscast. Bye.
