Hello, I am Alex and I am going to explain how has life changed because of aquifer exploitation. 00:01:16
First of all, we need to know what this term means. 00:01:23
Aquifer exploitation is the term in which the average abstraction rate of an aquifer is greater than its recharge rate. 00:01:26
Or in a few words, it's the situation in which we extract water from an aquifer faster than it can recover. 00:01:35
Now that we know what this means, I am going to explain how has life changed because of this. 00:01:42
Life has changed in some ways, one of them being a decrease in groundwater abstraction 00:01:48
and another one being that the system gets affected because of this, like some plants getting dry. 00:01:54
This is caused because of farmers that build wells illegally and excessive agricultural irrigation. 00:02:02
