The historic city of Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland it has a very old castle 00:00:02
Every year in the month of August the city is full of tourists 00:00:09
Thousands of people travel to Edinburgh from the rest of Britain and from all over the world to see two famous events 00:00:14
The Edinburgh tattoo is a celebration of the military world 00:00:22
Military bands from all over the world come and play to big audiences in Edinburgh Castle 00:00:26
many of the military bands bring dancers too and of course the bagpipes are always present 00:00:36
at important scottish musical occasions the other big event is the edinburgh festival 00:00:42
there are hundreds of shows drama comedy and musical acts and thousands of actors and dancers 00:00:51
they perform in many different places in different parts of the city they sometimes do small 00:00:59
performances in the street to advertise their shows and attract an audience. 00:01:05
Many students take part in the festival and they often live together in small flats for 00:01:10
the month of August, usually because it's cheap. 00:01:16
