Do you have the imagination to see yourself doing something truly exceptional? 00:00:15
Well, to be honest, I have to admit that at the very beginning of this course I wasn't able to answer that question 00:00:26
because I couldn't actually see myself doing anything important. 00:00:36
In fact, I wasn't even able to see myself in the future. 00:00:42
I was lost, confused and really afraid of what was coming up, but I always tried to have a smile on my face. 00:00:46
This year is one of the most important periods in our new lives. 00:00:56
We are starting to make relevant decisions that will be the beginning of our lives. 00:01:01
But far from hiding, running away, being frightened, we have to look up and move forward. 00:01:08
Because if I had to choose just one thing that I learned since I walked through the Galileo Galilei gate, it would be 00:01:17
Do not give up. Ever. 00:01:35
I'm not joking, this is the best thing you can always do. 00:01:38
I joined this high school two years ago, and I was worried about not finding any friends, 00:01:42
new teachers, new subjects. 00:01:48
Well, in fact, everything was new to me, so it can be said that I was worried about every single thing. 00:01:50
However, it was not that terrible. 00:01:57
Actually, everyone was so kind, the teachers were really close from the very beginning, 00:02:01
And the subjects, well, the subjects were not so far from what I expected, but nothing is easy, is it? 00:02:07
I have to admit that I'm thankful for my classmates. 00:02:15
They might not be the perfect students, but they always wanted me to be happy. 00:02:19
And they were there every single day, helping me, making me smile. 00:02:24
So thank you, guys. 00:02:29
The teachers were also very supportive, and whenever I needed help, they were there. 00:02:30
And believe me when I tell you that this makes the difference between good and just average teachers. 00:02:43
I may have learned about the subject they taught us, but not only that. 00:02:50
I've learned about love, about life, about thought, about how to be happy. 00:02:56
And last, but not least, I have to thank my parents, because despite everything, they were there, supporting me, encouraging me, all the times. 00:03:02
And I don't know what I would have done without them. Thank you, ma'am. Thank you, dad. 00:03:16
Time goes by so fast. It feels like yesterday when we started bachillerato, even when we were doing presentations in science, or even when we went to the university to be taught about the different degrees. 00:03:22
And I think that despite all the afternoons we've been studying, all the exams we have done, 00:03:49
all the pressure we've been exposed to, we have still enjoyed these two years. 00:03:55
When I was in my other high school, I remember a teacher who said something that I will always remember. 00:04:02
It went like this. 00:04:10
Do whatever you want to do, and don't take life so seriously, because after all, you only live once. 00:04:11
So that's why I decided to study what I have always loved, fine arts, rather than the life others wanted me to live, because in the end, it's what matters. 00:04:18
And who knows, maybe in the future, people from this graduation will be changing the world, making it better. 00:04:33
We might even have the next president among us, and we don't even know. 00:04:40
What I mean is that life changes, so do we. 00:04:45
To conclude, I will ask the same question that I asked you at the very beginning of this speech. 00:04:50
Do you have the imagination to see yourself doing something truly exceptional? 00:04:57
Things have changed since the first term started, and now I can answer that question. 00:05:04
Yes, I can imagine myself doing something important and I'm determined to fight for it. 00:05:11
