In 1902, Alfonso XIII, son of Alfonso XII, was proclamated king. 00:00:11
During his reign, social and political conflicts in Spain happened. 00:00:22
Streaks organised by labour unions took place due to the poor working conditions. 00:00:27
The national aims in Catalonia, Galicia and País Vasco demanded more autonomy. 00:00:34
And the war in Morocco where many Spanish soldiers died and Spain lost territories in North Africa. 00:00:41
There were many conflicts between workers and employers. 00:00:51
Employers hired mercers to take down the ladder of the worker, and the worker attacked the nobility and the virtuous. 00:00:55
With Alfonso XIII was shot with a bomb, this period known as Epoca del Pistolerismo. 00:01:07
Taking up advance of the social and political conflicts, General Primo de Rivera led a coup in 1923. 00:01:15
In a coup, a person or a group takes control of a government by force. 00:01:25
Primavera established a military dictatorship. 00:01:32
He assumed all the powers of the state. 00:01:38
He abolished the constitution. 00:01:41
He banned all the political parties. 00:01:44

the support from the king as there was a lot of corruption he have to receive the 00:02:22
general elections were held in 1931 the political parties that support a 00:02:29
a republic won and Alfonso XIII went to France into exile. 00:02:38
