Today we are going to do an experiment to prove some qualities of salt and fresh water.
00:00:00
We are going to see which water, salted or fresh, stays more time hot after boiling and which one boils first.
00:00:05
Let's start with the experiment.
00:00:13
The first step is to create salt water.
00:00:14
As 1 liter of salted water has 35 grams of salt and we are going to do only 500 milliliters of water,
00:00:18
we have to put 17.5 grams of salt we are also going to put into our experiment a
00:00:26
type of water with much more salt to see if it makes any difference let's make it
00:00:47
we are going to put 30 grams of salt to this 500 milliliters of water we are going to
00:00:52
put this salt into the water let's put a 500 milliliters of fresh water in this
00:01:10
cup. Let's see at what temperature is our fresh water now. We are going to heat up the water to
00:01:19
see at what point it boils. Okay, now we're going to see at what temperature is our salt water.
00:01:41
Our third type of water is the one that has more salt than the other two.
00:02:07
Now let's see how much time salt water needs to get cold after boiling.
00:02:34
As you can see the temperature decreases very very slowly because water has a very high heat capacity.
00:03:05
As you can see our hypothesis was correct and the water with much more salt was the one that takes more time hot after boiling.
