How to measure the voltage drop across a lamp in a series circuit

Descargar la transcripción

Hello, I'm going to repeat the activity, this activity, the series circuit, in order to measure the voltage drop across L2 00:00:00
But in this case I'm going to use the data we got in paper activity number 18 00:00:10
In this activity we had a series circuit, and in this series circuit we have a 6V battery and 1, 2, 3 different lamps 00:00:16
The resistance of each lamp is 10, 20 and 30 ohms 00:00:27
So that is what I'm going to mount in the simulator 00:00:32
So I can't use lamps here because in the simulator the resistance of each lamp is the same 00:00:38
So I need to change this value 00:00:47
So I'm going to use resistors 00:00:50
One, two, three, and I complete the circuit by adding three wires 00:00:53
The first one, the second one, the third one 00:01:02
As I said, this lamp is 10 ohms 00:01:05
This is 20 ohms 00:01:11
And this one is 30 ohms 00:01:14
The battery is a 6 volt battery 00:01:17
And to measure the voltage drop I need to use the multimeter 00:01:21
I use this multimeter as a voltmeter 00:01:27
Here, volts 00:01:31
So to measure the voltage drop across the first lamp, the first resistor 00:01:34
I need to connect the probes to these two points, A and B 00:01:39
And we have zero because we don't have current through the circuit 00:01:44
the circuit and I close the circuit current flows through the circuit and 00:01:51
now we have the voltage drop one volt let's see here in the first lamp we have 00:01:58
one volt here let's see if we have two and three volts in the other lamps so 00:02:06
So the voltage drop across L1 is 1 volt, across L2 is 2 volts, good, and through L3, the resistor number 3 is 3 volts, good. 00:02:13
1 plus 2 plus 3 is 6 volts, the total voltage of this battery. 00:02:30
And that's all. Thank you. 00:02:39
