Hello! I'm going to tell you about a time when I did something that was really challenging for me. 00:00:08
I performed in a play, a Shakespeare play, as you like it, in an outdoor production that was viewed by 300 people a night. 00:00:16
Um, so this was a daunting prospect and also I had members of my family and my friends 00:00:28
who were coming to see me and in fact every night I had somebody who was coming to watch 00:00:37
me which was really nice, really supportive but quite scary at the same time. 00:00:44
Um, it wasn't my first time done acting before, I did acting at university and school and 00:00:48
in fact I did acting in primary school and I remember being really scared. I had terrible 00:00:55
stage fright when I was a child. I was so shy. I think I've become a little bit better 00:01:02
since then, she says, and I feel a lot more comfortable. It still is challenging. You've 00:01:08
always got the worry that you're going to forget your words and in fact in this particular 00:01:15
instance, I was quite worried about forgetting my lines, or someone else forgetting their 00:01:20
lines, or tripping up, or falling off the stage, all these things you have to worry 00:01:28
about. And in fact, I did forget my words, I mixed up my words, and I was doing my scene 00:01:33
and I thought, oh no, because the guy who was playing my love interest, I had to give 00:01:43
him his cue and he realised what had happened and he was amazing. He jumped in and saved 00:01:48
the day and straight away he clocked it. But nobody else in the audience realised. And 00:01:53
afterwards I asked my mum, I said, oh did you notice we had a bit of a hiccup? No, not 00:02:01
at all. With acting, the way to prepare is to brush up on your lines. You just have to 00:02:06
know your stuff. Otherwise, you are going to have a disaster. But honestly, it's an 00:02:12
amazing experience. It's challenging. It's scary. But the feeling of elation that you 00:02:20
have, you know, you feel on a high when you come off. You think, oh, God. And in fact, 00:02:28
it's that buzz when you're acting, that adrenaline boost that you have that is so exciting. 00:02:33
so you know i have done it since um i would do it again i i have done it again and i will do it 00:02:38
again um because it's something that i really enjoy and it's very rewarding 00:02:46
