Good morning, my name is Marta and I'm in charge of 19th Second Revival. 00:00:00
We have listened to your argument of your great interest, but we have some objections. 00:00:04
Let me remind you that we are all aware that gambling is a huge problem in our society, 00:00:09
but we are here to assess whether it should be banned or not. 00:00:15
We have noticed that only gambling has its plans, but banning it will not solve a single thing. 00:00:19
The key lays in regulation, and value online gambling would only cause more harm than good. 00:00:25
Once we have established that, let me brief you of your arguments. 00:00:31
You have started talking about the creation of an addiction, produced by online gambling. 00:00:35
But let me remind you that we acknowledge that compulsive gambling is a serious condition that chemistry lacks. 00:00:45
However, it's important to remark that online gambling presents the exact same issues as physical gambling regarding why online gambling and not physical gambling. 00:00:51
I think it's important to regulate and our team has clearly proved that regulations work better than that. 00:01:03
You have also talked about the families affected by the money in the same argument. 00:01:11
But physical gambling also affects families. 00:01:18
However, thanks to the state's regulation, any computer gamblers' relatives can sign 00:01:24
them up in a list whether they would be allowed to enter any casino regulated by the state, 00:01:30
including all the physical casinos and all the only ones inside the state's statements. 00:01:36
This shows how regulations do work better than any kind of banning, and therefore this is proof that online gambling shouldn't be banned. 00:01:43
As for your second argument, you talked about the lack of security regarding minors, but it's not entirely true that minors have an easier access. 00:01:54
You have to accept and acknowledge that for entering any online casino regulated by the state, therefore SAFE, you need to enter with your personal ID, but let's say that you manage to steal your private ID and with your card to enter. 00:02:06
Your crimes are eventually going to notice and sign up into this list of compulsive gamblers 00:02:28
and therefore you won't be able to enter any casino regulated by the state. 00:02:34
And now let me go back to my point. I'm seeing that you haven't said anything about the first 00:02:40
argument so I suppose you agree with us. Our point is strong. Banning only gambling will not achieve 00:02:47
with the mitigation of harm that regulation can. 00:02:54
If the state's funds only come in, 00:02:57
the people that cannot travel online 00:02:59
will turn to illegal places, and therefore unsafe. 00:03:01
These options lack the control of the state, 00:03:05
and the consumer cannot be protected. 00:03:07
On the other hand, if we have a well-regulated option, 00:03:10
people would rather use that well-regulated option 00:03:13
than the option that is not. 00:03:16
As for our second argument, you talked about, 00:03:18
You said that the appropriate state, you said that it's more accessible, that only government is more accessible, but not entirely. 00:03:22
Let me tell you that you don't need, even if it's true, but if only government is not the solution to stop compulsive ganders, addicts will do anything for satisfying their needs. 00:03:33
Do you truly think that getting outside and going to physical casinos will stop them? Absolutely not. 00:03:46
And for our last argument, you talk about the loss of money, and you said that it is not compatible that the money that we lose, the government does, with the money that online governors lose. 00:03:51
However, I think the opposing team is confused and misled. 00:04:06
the population gap was at the 0.8 of the GDP and the amount of money that we would be losing 00:04:10
is around the 2%. That is a lot. We cannot afford that in the crisis period. Thank you very much. 00:04:20
