Hello class, it is your teacher Shaila here. Today I'm here to help you learn about 00:00:00
non-flowering plants and how they are different from flowering plants. Please go to page 68 00:00:06
in your natural science book and let's get started. Mosses and ferns are plants. Mosses 00:00:14
are short and soft. Ferns have green leaves. 00:00:23
Mosses and ferns don't have flowers and they can't make seeds. They reproduce 00:00:28
with spores. Please start on exercise number one. Look at each 00:00:36
picture of plants that we have here. You are going to tick the picture 00:00:44
that is a non-flowering plant. So the plants that do not grow flowers and don't have seeds. 00:00:53
For example, this first picture is a flowering plant. You can see there are pink and purple 00:01:04
flowers growing along the tree branches. So you would not tick, do not tick this picture because 00:01:12
it is a flowering plant. Continue on. This is moss. You can look closely and see 00:01:22
that moss is all green and it has spores growing along it. Moss is a non flowering 00:01:31
plant so that you should tick this picture of moss. Now continue on to the 00:01:41
next pictures and tick if it is a non flowering plant. Non flowering. Okay let's 00:01:51
continue to number two. Look at each picture and write moss or fern. We can 00:02:07
see in this first picture that this is moss. Moss is short and looks very soft to the touch 00:02:17
and it is growing on the side of a tree. So this first picture you will write moss. 00:02:30
The next picture. This is a fern. The fern has green leaves that are unfurling. So this second 00:02:40
picture is a fern. Continue on and label the next two as moss or fern. Number three, exercise three. 00:02:52
Draw spores on the fern leaves, then label the picture. 00:03:12
Here we have the fern with leaves growing out from its stem. 00:03:19
You should draw spores along the leaves, so in the white spaces draw small circles 00:03:26
that will represent spores. 00:03:34
Then I want you to label the stem, the leaves, and the spores, the small circles that you drew 00:03:37
on top of the leaves, okay? So stem, leaves, spores. Going on forward to page 69, order and 00:03:53
copy the sentence. So you have four parts here. One, two, three, four. And I want you 00:04:10
to correctly order the sentence to make it into a complete sentence. The sentence should 00:04:20
go as follows listen ferns need soil water and shade to grow going forward to 00:04:27
exercise five write then color the things ferns need to grow so here you 00:04:45
will see five pictures and we have five words that you should label under each 00:04:56
picture. This first picture is soil. Please write soil beneath the picture. 00:05:01
Next here, shade. The tree is making shade on the ground beneath it. Shade. For 00:05:14
Flowers. Here we have flowers growing from the soil. Flowers. Here we have a jug 00:05:29
of water. Water. And finally, wood. This is a picture of a trunk of wood. Please 00:05:44
