Hi everybody, happy new year. I hope you guys had a wonderful holiday and I'm excited to see you guys in person again. 00:00:00
So Jaime had the great idea to talk about my experience with snow. 00:00:06
If you remember, I come from a very cold place in Boston. 00:00:10
It can be cold from October all the way through April. It's even snowed in April before. 00:00:13
So I have a lot of experience with snow days. 00:00:19
My worst year was when we had 10 snow days. That was the worst winter of my childhood. 00:00:21
so for 10 days even Boston couldn't handle the amount of snow so it was maybe three or four 00:00:28
times worse than the snow that you guys just had I do have some fond memories of snow and snow days 00:00:33
so when I was little me and my sister who's five years older when it would snowstorm or blizzard 00:00:40
we'd go outside in our driveway where the cars are parked and it was so high that the cars were 00:00:47
practically buried in snow so we would climb on top of the cars and we would get on top of the 00:00:54
roof of the car and we would just jump right into the snow because it was so thick that we would 00:01:00
just land in the snow and it was it was really fun I don't recommend doing it here by the way 00:01:05
um but yeah so in Boston the snow was so high that we would love to do that when we were little kids 00:01:11
um and now I just want to talk about a few of the ways that you can bundle up or wear lots of layers 00:01:16
in the cold and in the snow. So one of my favorite things to do is to wear scarves. 00:01:22
If you see me outside of class, I'm probably wearing a scarf. You wrap it around your neck 00:01:28
like this. Or one of my favorite ways is to wear it over my head when it's really cold 00:01:33
so that it covers my ears and I stay nice and toasty warm. Another thing that's important in 00:01:40
the snow is gloves so my hands get cold very easily so you can either wear a regular pair 00:01:47
of gloves like this or you can wear fingerless gloves which I like whenever I need access to 00:01:54
my phone so I have my fingers free but my hand still stays warm and then of course you need lots 00:01:59
of layers with a jacket so I have this lightweight jacket even though it keeps you very warm 00:02:06
and then I pair that with my long coat that goes down below my knees and then the last thing that's 00:02:13
very important I almost didn't bring them because I was like it's not gonna snow in Madrid and I'm 00:02:20
so glad I brought them my boots so a good pair of boots is great to have in the snow and the ice 00:02:26
because as you've seen it's probably it's not a good idea to walk around with sneakers in the 00:02:32
snow because you're slipping and you're sliding and it's harder to walk but with a good pair of 00:02:38
boots, you get the grip, and you can walk a lot easier in the snow. So hopefully that is some of 00:02:42
the ways that I'll see you guys bundled up for school this week. I will see you soon, and have 00:02:49
a great and restful snow day. Bye! 00:02:55
