"Conspiracy Theories about Covid-19" - speaking project realizado por nuestra alumna de 2º de ESO Irene Serra
Hi Sara, my topic of today are the conspiracy theories about COVID-19. I hope you like it.
00:00:10
Just a little warning before starting the PowerPoint. None of these theories have been
00:00:20
proved by science, these are only for fun, so don't really take them into account.
00:00:27
Well, here we have the index. I'm going to talk about a little explanation of the conspiracy
00:00:35
theories and then the powerpoint is divided into the different type of theories that i found
00:00:42
intentional dumb and other types then we have the biography and the end conspiracy theories
00:00:49
a conspiracy theory according to the collins dictionary is a belief that a group of people
00:00:59
are secretly trying to harm someone or achieve something some of the best known that i'm sure
00:01:06
you've heard of them, are the Area 51, here we have a picture, the Bigfoot theory, another
00:01:12
picture, and the Loch Ness Monster.
00:01:21
We start with intentional theories.
00:01:26
The first one says that coronavirus was made in a lab.
00:01:28
This one is based off the poll done by Peer Research Center to all the youth adults.
00:01:33
As you can see here, 43% of the youth adults think it came about naturally, 25% are not
00:01:42
sure, but 29% think it was made in a lab and 23% of those 29% think it was developed intentionally.
00:01:51
More theories are that Disney Plus released coronavirus at the same time they launched
00:02:06
their platform and COVID-19 was created by Netflix to coincide with their new series.
00:02:14
As you see, these two are very similar, that's why I wrote them in the same slide, and they
00:02:21
actually make sense because in this graph we have that media has increased almost 40%
00:02:29
since lockdown.
00:02:38
Greta Thunberg created COVID to stop climate change.
00:02:44
Well, if you don't know who Greta Thunberg is, she's this girl we have here, and she's a 16-year-old activist that fights to stop climate change.
00:02:48
As you can see here, this is the sky of Madrid before lockdown, and this is the sky of Madrid after lockdown cleared out due to the decrease in transportation and travel.
00:03:02
More intentional theories are that COVID-19 was created by Hansen-Tascher companies to grow in business.
00:03:16
This one is similar to the Netflix theory and the Disney Plus theory.
00:03:29
And as you can see here, this is a graph and this red line represents the number of sales in 2020.
00:03:35
you can see the exact point of the outbreak of coronavirus when people
00:03:45
start buying more medical masks and more hand sanitizers we go with dumb theories
00:03:51
these are very very dumb I only wrote them for fun so I hope they're funny to
00:04:01
The UK government is baking a giant lasagna the size of Wembley Stadium and the French
00:04:10
government is making a giant garlic bread but the size of the Canal de la Mancha.
00:04:19
As I said these are very dumb theories and well if you're interested in the giant lasagna
00:04:27
is the well now you cannot see it but that's the instagram of the one with lasagna so you can check
00:04:38
it out we go with other theories and we have this one that says that kovit arrived from space this
00:04:47
one actually doesn't have any scientific facts to support it i just thought it was interesting that
00:04:57
some people really believe it came from space and it has to do with UFOs and
00:05:06
that sort of things. And the last conspiracy theory that has been going
00:05:12
around the Internet is that Russia has released lines to enforce lockdown.
00:05:20
Thankfully this is a fake news. Please don't believe everything you see on the
00:05:27
internet because of course the Russian government didn't release lines so that
00:05:35
people stay at home well this is the bibliography and this is the end of my
00:05:40
presentation remember to stay safe keep a safe distance wash your hands so we
00:05:52
can flatten the curve and go back to normal life soon bye
