Hello class, it's your teacher Shaila here, and today we are going to learn about taking care of water and the air. 00:00:00
So if you can please turn to page 76 in your book, and let's get started together. 00:00:10
Taking care of our environment is very important for protecting our communities and the earth. 00:00:19
Today we will learn about taking care of water and the air. 00:00:26
We need water. Have showers, not baths, to save water. Throw rubbish in the bin to keep water clean. 00:00:31
Look at the first picture in number one. 00:00:42
You need to cross out with an x the wrong actions that the people are doing that are bad 00:00:48
for the water and the air. In the picture you can see this girl eating ice cream is littering. 00:00:56
Littering means to throw trash and waste into the environment on land or into water. 00:01:07
This is bad for the environment. It is bad for water and bad for the air. So you should cross out 00:01:17
girl who is littering. Now look in the picture and find other actions that are 00:01:26
wrong and bad for the water and air. You will find a boy throwing his soda can 00:01:35
into the ocean. This is also bad for the environment. The factory over here is 00:01:44
is producing waste and putting it into the clean air and water so you can see the smoke 00:01:53
coming into the air pollution and also the waste from the factory is polluting the water 00:02:00
and air so please cross out those actions now we are going to move on to exercise number 00:02:09
two. I want you here to tick the correct actions. So tick the actions that are good for saving 00:02:17
water, for not using too much water. The first two pictures, we have a girl brushing her 00:02:27
teeth. In the first picture, right here, she is brushing her teeth and leaving the water 00:02:35
faucet running. However, in the second picture next to it, she is brushing her teeth and the 00:02:44
water faucet is turned off. So she is not using excessive too much water and this is good. So you 00:02:51
should tick the correct action of she brushing her teeth without the water running. In the next 00:03:02
picture. As we said, you should have showers, not baths, to save water. So please tick the picture 00:03:12
of the boy who is showering. This is going to be a fun exercise on number three. Are you a super 00:03:23
water saver? So if you are very good at saving water by doing some of these good actions, like 00:03:34
not leaving the water running and not taking baths, mostly showers, then you should draw 00:03:42
one drop of water that is smiling, that is happy. Okay, let's move on to the next page, page 77. 00:03:49
Here I want you to color red or green on the different actions that we have here. 00:04:02
You color green in the happy face, red in the sad face. 00:04:15
So this first picture is of the factory, the same factory that we saw over here producing 00:04:24
waste and pollution and putting it into the air. We know that this is bad for the environment and 00:04:32
bad for the air so we color the sad face with red. Next we have people biking, riding their bicycle 00:04:41
all together. This is good. So you should color green because they are not driving their car 00:04:53
instead they are riding a bicycle and helping to stop pollution of the air. 00:05:03
Next we see trash in this river, in the water. This is bad, so we color it red. 00:05:12
We do not want trash floating in the water and polluting the water. Here we see a lot of cars 00:05:22
and traffic and a lot of cars that are causing air pollution. Do you think that this is good 00:05:34
green or bad red? Please color what you think if it is good green or bad red for the air and water. 00:05:44
here we have a family who is together recycling to recycle means to 00:05:56
