Good afternoon to all the guests, family, faculty, staff, but especially to my colleagues from Secund of Bati Rato, to this graduation ceremony, which I am very excited to present, and in which we leave behind a beautiful and chaotic stage of our lives, to start another probably very beautiful too, and that scares us all so much. 00:00:03
To start with, I would like to ask you all for a favor. 00:00:26
Close your eyes and travel with me in time six years ago. 00:00:31
What can you see? 00:00:35
I see us. The first day of high school of our lives. 00:00:37
With about 12 years old, more or less a meter tall, and the backpacks bigger than ourselves, 00:00:41
which were new and stunning because it was the first time that we did not carry wheeled backpacks, 00:00:47
it was necessary to show who was in charge by wearing the coolest backpack. 00:00:52
Since that time, so long ago, we have experienced so many things in the high 00:00:56
school that I cannot imagine classes without asking to go to the bathroom, to 00:01:02
take advantage and take a walk through the halls, without going to the 00:01:06
cafeteria to try to order an omelet or sausage sandwich. And I say try because 00:01:10
at least I am very short and until this course I have had to elbow others to let 00:01:16
me pass so that they can attend to me. Without being afraid every time they say 00:01:21
my name by the concert, by the way it seems that they only call us during the 00:01:26
exams. And without hearing typical phrases from teachers such as Victorino 00:01:31
telling us I swear that your class is an oasis and Ana Maria saying you have to 00:01:36
look at the mathematical equation with love. And the typical lies that they have 00:01:42
been telling us every year, like saying we are their favorite class and then 00:01:46
classmates from other classes came saying that they have been told exactly the 00:01:51
same thing. Now we have become a group of young people with new expectations, new 00:01:55
paths and above all eager to eat the world because we, colleagues, are the future. 00:02:05
Because of this we must continue being ourselves even if people do not like it, 00:02:13
Even if they tell us a thousand times that we must change and that our life would be 00:02:18
much better if we were different. 00:02:24
We must maintain our essence, because we do not want a grey and monotonous world where 00:02:27
we all are perfect and equal. 00:02:33
We want a world of ours, with our defects and virtues, with our human values, with our 00:02:35
talents, marked by our history. 00:02:42
When talking about history, the 19-20 class takes with it too many memories of the different 00:02:47
courses we have spent here, but especially we take with us our achievements. 00:02:53
We have experienced what is it like to face a global pandemic in the probably most complicated 00:02:59
and stressful year of our lives, Secondo Bati Rato. 00:03:04
Despite all that we have suffered, we have managed to achieve all of our goals, showing 00:03:09
that we can face everything that comes in our way and that more than colleagues 00:03:14
we are family because nobody has given me so much support and has understood me 00:03:18
as much as they did. As we have shown throughout this course especially in the 00:03:23
recent months if all of us unique and each with their strengths and weakness 00:03:32
unite collaborate and support each other we are stronger than anything that can 00:03:36
coming our way. Personally speaking I would like to first thank all of my 00:03:43
colleagues and teachers, my best companions at this important moment in 00:03:49
my life and who have made these six years an experience that I will always 00:03:53
remember with great affection but especially I want to thank my family for 00:03:57
putting up with me day by day with my ups and downs with my pluses and minuses 00:04:03
But despite being unbearable and being stressed all day, they still love me the same. 00:04:08
Or at least, they tell me that. 00:04:15
Thank you to all the families and friends for coming to this graduation ceremony. 00:04:18
Without you, it would not be the same. 00:04:23
Thank you so much. 00:04:26
