Hello, today we're going to learn how to
use 12 adjectives to describe gadgets. 00:00:00
First of all, let's learn what an
adjective is. Adjectives are words that 00:00:07
describe a noun or a phrase. They give
information about the noun, tell their 00:00:11
characteristics and they appear usually
before the noun, but they can also appear 00:00:16
alone after the verb 'to be'.
Some useful adjectives that you can 00:00:21
use are descriptive adjectives. These are
the ones that Express the quality of a 00:00:27
noun and describe things like the size,
age, shape, color, material, origin or 00:00:32
purpose of the noun.
Let's look at some examples. 00:00:38
For example: 'we ate some
delicious food' 'He has a beautiful face' 00:00:42
'She's a clever student.' 'Give me that
green notebook.' 'He bought a diamond ring.' 00:00:49
'delicious', 'beautiful', 'clever', 'green', and

descriptive adjectives that go with
nouns in these phrases. Now, let's have a 00:01:00
look at 12 adjectives that we can use to
describe gadgets. The first one is 00:01:05
'appealing' and its antonym is 'unappealing'.
It means 'attractive or interesting' 00:01:10
and comes from the word 'appeal'.
For example: 'The product offers an 00:01:15
appealing design'
'Innovative'. It means: 'new and 00:01:20
different, using new methods or ideas'
For example, 'They introduced a number of 00:01:24
innovative solutions.' 'Bizarre' means 'strange
or unusual' and 'quirky' means 'unusual in an 00:01:30
interesting and attractive way.' For
example: 'the quirky designs of Desigual 00:01:37
made the brand popular in the
2000s.' An example of 'bizarre' is: 'it's 00:01:44
bizarre for this kind of technology to
be so easy to use.' 00:01:50
One more adjective is 'compact',
meaning 'using a very little space'. 00:01:53
For example, 'a compact camera'.
Also, 'user-friendly', which means: 00:02:00
'simple for people to use'. For example:
a user friendly interface'. 00:02:06
Another adjective is 'portable'
which means: 'light or small, possible to 00:02:11
take with you.' For example: 'a portable
radio, a portable phone or a portable 00:02:17
computer.' One more adjective: 'practical'.
Means 'suitable for a situation or able 00:02:23
to offer effective solutions'. For example:
I tend to wear clothes that are 00:02:30
practical, rather than

other adjectives. 'Stylish'.
Stylish means 'of a high quality 00:02:41
in appearance or design'. It means
'attractive'. Another example is trendy. 00:02:46
'Trendy' means: 'modern and

or ideas'. For example: 'trendy clothes' or
the sentence: 'New York is full of shops 00:02:58
with trendy products and designs'. One
more adjective: 'Versatile'. Versatile means: 00:03:05
'able to do different things or to be
used for different purposes'. For example: 00:03:12
'a leather jacket is always
a very versatile garment' 00:03:17
The last adjective that we will
study is 'wearable'. It means 'easy to wear' 00:03:20
or 'that can be worn'. For example: 'they
offer clothes that are both affordable and 00:03:26
wearable. Here we have 12 adjectives
that you can use to describe gadgets. 00:03:32
