i don't normally feel small around people but today that is the opposite today we have with
00:00:17
us on the not so wild project two of the most famous bodybuilders in the country
00:00:35
probably our best chances at winning one of the prizes at the olympia the best bodybuilding
00:00:39
tournament in the world many of you know who they are and they have a lot to talk about here on
00:00:45
the not so wild project tristan and javier from tj fitness how are you guys we are very happy to be
00:00:49
here. What a great introduction. Thank you for inviting us to the podcast. We are doing good.
00:00:56
We just recently managed to get a place in a really important competition and we wanted to
00:01:02
come to the podcast first. That's great. What competition is it? We are assisting the Arnold
00:01:07
Classic, which is a straight pass to the Olympia if you get first place. So we are very excited.
00:01:13
Steroids and supplements like creatine are becoming more and more popular. A lot of people
00:01:21
are entering this world and many of them aren't really sure of the impact they can have on your
00:01:25
body. What's your opinion on this? Do you take any? We don't take any steroids and I don't support
00:01:28
the consumption of them as going to the gym is also for having a healthier life and the consumption
00:01:34
wouldn't ruin this purpose. However, supplements like protein and creatine are natural and helps
00:01:40
you to build muscles without affecting your health. Do you usually take any supplements?
00:01:47
Yes, I do. I normally take protein and creatine that are harmful for your health and you can find it in everyday meat, but not in the optimal amount.
00:01:53
And what do you think about the pharma companies?
00:02:03
It's a recent business because there are a lot of new bodybuilders that want quick results or they take this to have a competitive physique in the bodybuilders competitions.
00:02:05
How many calories do you intake more or less on a normal day?
00:02:17
I intake 3,500 calories each day in three meals because I am bulking.
00:02:19
And I have to take around 3,500 calories a day distributed in five meals.
00:02:26
Wow! And what diet do you follow?
00:02:34
And what diet would you recommend people that want to get bigger to follow?
00:02:36
The only way to get bigger is to intake more kilocalories than you burn and train hard at the same time.
00:02:40
Another important question many people ask themselves is the price of being a bodybuilder.
00:02:47
How much do you spend on supplements, food and everything during the space of a month?
00:02:52
We usually spend around 400 euros a month on everything related.
00:02:56
It's a lot, but we really want to win the competition to recover from it.
00:03:01
Can you win money with the competitions?
00:03:05
How much can you win with a professional competition?
00:03:07
Yes, we can, but it all depends on what competition you are competing.
00:03:10
For example, in this competition we have entered, we can win up to 20.000 euros.
00:03:15
But the majority of the money you get from bodybuilding comes from advertisements and promotions.
00:03:21
That's amazing.
00:03:27
Sorry, but we're going to have to end it here.
00:03:29
Thank you guys so much for coming.
00:03:31
I hope you win your competition and come back soon to tell us all.
00:03:33
Thank you for having us.
00:03:36
See you soon.
00:03:37
Welcome to The World Today, where we dig into the most interesting topics of our time.
00:04:03
I'm your host.
00:04:07
Carlos, and today we are talking about the phenomenon of holiday shopping events
00:04:08
and their impact on consumer behavior.
00:04:12
Joining me are three experts in the field, Noel, Lucas and Jaime.
00:04:14
How are you all doing today?
00:04:18
I'm fine, thanks for inviting us.
00:04:20
We are all amazed for today's podcast.
00:04:22
I'm doing great, mate.
00:04:24
To kick things off, let's get a small understanding of why holiday shopping events
00:04:26
like Black Friday or Cyber Monday have become such cultural phenomena.
00:04:30
Noel, can you tell us more about this?
00:04:33
Now, Lucas, could you tell us the psychological aspects that contribute to the impact on consumer behavior during these events?
00:04:36
Absolutely, Carlos. The attraction of these occasions resides in the remarkable deals and discounts presented by retailers.
00:04:45
They have evolved into yearly customs, marking the starts of the holiday shopping season and generating a feeling of joy and expectation among customers.
00:04:52
Of course, Carlos. The limited time nature of these sales does create a sense of urgency and
00:05:01
scarcity, triggering consumers to make quicker decisions and often purchase items they might
00:05:07
not have considered otherwise. It's a fascinating characteristic of psychology and marketing.
00:05:12
Now let's explore the impact of these events. Jaime, from an economic point of view,
00:05:18
what are the pros and the cons of these holiday shopping trends?
00:05:23
From an economic perspective, these events undeniably stimulate consumer spending, driving sales and benefiting retailers.
00:05:26
However, there is a downside, the pressure to offer strong discounts and impact profit margins, especially for smaller businesses.
00:05:33
Interesting. Noel, what about the environmental implications?
00:05:41
The environmental impact is a growing concern.
00:05:46
The increased production of goods, excessive packaging and the carbon footprint associated with shipping during these events contribute to environmental degradation.
00:05:49
As consumers, we need to be mindful of the ecological consequences of our purchases.
00:05:58
Wise words, Noel. Now, Lucas, how about the ethical considerations associated with these events?
00:06:03
Ethically, there are positives, such as supporting local businesses and creating job opportunities.
00:06:10
On the flip side, there are concerns about labor conditions, the pressure on employees during these high-demand periods, and the potential negative impact on smaller local businesses.
00:06:14
Also, they are unable to compete with major retailers.
00:06:24
Now, focusing on specific events, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and emerging trends in holiday shopping, Jaime, can you share your thoughts about the evolution of these events?
00:06:27
Absolutely, Carlos. Black Friday has transitioned from in-store chaos to a blend of online and offline sales.
00:06:38
while Cyber Monday has gained prominence as an online shopping event.
00:06:43
Emerging trends include the integration of technology, personalized shopping experiences,
00:06:47
and a growing emphasis on sustainable and ethical practices.
00:06:52
Thank you all for joining me on The World Today.
00:06:56
It's been a very interesting discussion on the actuality of holiday shopping events
00:06:59
and their impact on consumer behavior.
00:07:03
To our listeners, we hope you gain valuable information.
00:07:06
Until next time!
00:07:10
hello and welcome back to pali podcast we are paula and lydia and today we're going to talk
00:07:23
about education in different countries we have here with us ola and mario welcome guys we are
00:07:34
so happy you two are here hi i'm really happy to be here with you today hi thanks for inviting me
00:07:40
the podcast in today episode we are comparing the education systems from other countries
00:07:47
so hola when did you came to spain i came to spain in may 2022 and now i'm studying in the high
00:07:54
school in cerceria it's really new and interesting experience for me and mario are you originally
00:08:01
from france yes i'm originally from france even though i'm living in spain now oh so that means
00:08:08
you like french fries right yeah i guess so in this part of the podcast we hear some questions
00:08:15
from our listeners hi what is the difference between both education systems well the main
00:08:26
difference that i can see is the way that french education system teaches the students
00:08:34
well the french system focuses more in the comprehension the reduction skills of the
00:08:38
students the spanish one doesn't and for example the french students have to write and develop
00:08:45
their answers in every type of exam while the spanish system doesn't offer that chance and
00:08:52
they normally just learn something right in the exam and then totally forget it the second main
00:09:00
difference are the bilingual skills that spain provides to the students since the spanish system
00:09:06
gives like more subjects in english and the french one usually doesn't i have been studying here more
00:09:13
than one year and now i can say the main difference that i noticed from the first day here
00:09:22
first of all it's relations between students and teachers here it is easier it means you can say
00:09:29
about your problems or you do not understand something and teacher is going to help you.
00:09:37
In Ukraine they are very strict. The second one is that you can choose what do you want to study
00:09:43
because in Ukraine it is necessary to study all subjects during 11 years.
00:09:50
That's so interesting! And guys which education system you like the most? Actually it depends
00:09:58
because if we talk about subjects i prefer spanish education system but when we start to speak about
00:10:04
general exams of high school or university exams i like more education system in ukraine
00:10:11
because it is easier guys it seems that we have another call let's hear it hi from germany what
00:10:17
is the preparatory faculty and what is this for so in ukraine in kindergarten children play and
00:10:26
spend time with friends. They are taught to write letters and elementary
00:10:33
mathematical operations so that they are ready for elementary school. In some
00:10:38
cases English is also included there. And are you allowed to use your phone in
00:10:45
high school? When I started to study here I was really surprised that in school we
00:10:50
can't use mobile phones during the break or in other cases. In my country we can
00:10:56
use it at school except lessons time.
00:11:03
Okay, Mario, to sum up, can you compare French vacations with the Spanish ones?
00:11:05
That's a good one.
00:11:11
Well, the Spanish ones are, as we know, on very specific vacations, events, and the typical
00:11:13
non-teaching breaks.
00:11:18
The French holidays are usually every six weeks and during two weeks.
00:11:20
Well, even though it seems unfair for the Spanish students, at the end, they all have
00:11:25
the same amount of class because the French school start at 8 in the morning
00:11:29
and finishes more or less at 5 or 6 p.m. which compensates in Spain as they
00:11:33
finish at 3 or 4 in the afternoon this episode has come to an end we'll see you
00:11:39
in the next one bye bye guys bye thanks for having us bye
00:11:47
welcome to a new episode of the podcast coffee with the girls we hope you had a wonderful
00:11:53
christmas holiday and had fun and visited their family of course in this episode we are going
00:12:31
gonna talk about christmas consumerism we have asked you some questions and we are gonna show
00:12:36
the results of our study the objective of our study was to reflect the abuse of christmas
00:12:42
consumerism and we've also come to some interesting conclusions about modern society's
00:12:48
materialism sorry materialism sorry the newspaper europa press confirms that the consumerism at the
00:12:54
end of the year has increased an 80 percent in the last six years oh really that's really amazing
00:13:01
that's a lot yes and this information really sucked us and motivated us to carry on with our
00:13:08
study and we want to make you all conscious about this topic a really important one we leave you
00:13:14
with the questions of our study. Starting slow we've asked you if your consumerism
00:13:20
increase in Christmas time and as we expected a vast majority said yes. So after that we've asked
00:13:26
some more specific questions. This question really surprised us only one person said yes to the
00:13:33
question does your consumerism increase in Christmas meanwhile the rest have the same
00:13:40
perception of christmas without taking into account gifts and following these questions
00:13:45
we get to the next one how do you prefer the presents the 56 percent prefer more gifts but
00:13:50
and the 64 prefer less but expensive how about you girls so i think in my opinion i prefer
00:13:57
less gifts but expensive so i value a lot the quality yeah i agree with you too so i think i
00:14:05
prefer quality rather than quantity okay and what is the next question the fifth question
00:14:12
inform us about the solidarity of our followers have you ever donated presents to charity
00:14:17
the 50 percent of the people confirm they've done it which really surprised us have you yes
00:14:23
i will do it this year i have never but i did it too okay but listen to this question it's very
00:14:30
interesting going with we not going on with the money how much do you usually in spend in christmas
00:14:37
so the vast majority spends more than 20 euros do you think it's a lot or not that much like
00:14:43
more per person right yes yes yes it's like the present maybe the medium quantity of money
00:14:49
as a teenager i usually like gift only small details not big presents yeah i because i don't
00:14:57
have that much money. I agree with you. Like maybe some jewelry or something. Yes. We also have asked
00:15:04
our audience what type of gifts they prefer. 56% prefer clothing and jewelry while a 41%
00:15:12
prefer money or video games. Apart from that 68% prefer purchases gifts and only 30% prefer
00:15:20
handmade gifts that's really sad i think because how many these are are made with love i think
00:15:29
they are like more personal don't you think so and more special yes i agree okay so last but not
00:15:36
least do you think marketing influences your consumerism and is it increased by the large
00:15:42
amount of advertisement so according to the abc newspaper some of the brands which benefit the
00:15:49
most for their large amount of Christmas advertising are Coca-Cola, Amazon, Nike,
00:15:56
some of the most famous brands. Would you expect that? Yes, yes, yes. I'm not surprised at all.
00:16:02
I mean, you just have to turn on the TV on Christmas. You only see that. Literally.
00:16:08
Also, on these dates, advertisements for cosmetics such as perfumes and makeup
00:16:13
increase in quantity. Yes. It's normal. Like, when we eat the grapes at last day of the
00:16:19
year there are only perfumes on the tv oh yes yes yes we have come to the end of the questions
00:16:25
and as you can see the results aren't impressive at least i'm not surprised because as many sources
00:16:32
confirm christmas consumerism has increased so much in the recent years yes a lot we truly think
00:16:39
this podcast episode will encourage you to make a self-reflection about the materialism
00:16:47
and consumerism during the holidays now as we're talking about consumerism and
00:16:52
we've got the conclusion that it is increased during Christmas period we
00:16:58
wanted to tell you a surprise we have created a coffee brand Julia tell us more about our coffee brand
00:17:02
well you can enter in our web and buy it is as simple as that it is made of
00:17:18
natural products it's ecological and doesn't hurt any animal oh yeah okay girls let's continue
00:17:25
we hope you liked this week's episode we will see you the next week criticizing the country music
00:17:34
we don't like it sorry yes we have enjoyed a lot making this study see you next week and remember
00:17:40
every day is good day to smile three two one bye love you kiss kiss
00:17:47
hello everybody welcome to a new episode of the healthy podcaster today
00:17:56
we're going to talk about allergies, a topic not many of you would think it's interesting
00:18:45
but stay put because you're wrong and we're going to prove it. Today we're going to be speaking with
00:18:49
Dr. Alexia Lactosa, an allergologist with extensive experience in the field. Welcome Alexia and thank
00:18:55
you for giving us some of your time. Hi Kitty, I'm so excited to be here this afternoon talking
00:19:01
about such an important topic. As I grew up with a lot of allergies and I personally have suffered
00:19:07
a lot with it since I was really young, I always focused on learning to be someone who could help
00:19:13
someone struggling with the same problem I went through. Wow, Alexia, that is so nice. Can you
00:19:19
tell us, as an expert, what is an allergy, what risks it has, and maybe is there any similar
00:19:26
condition that could be confused with it? So, to answer your questions, most people think they are
00:19:33
illnesses, but they're really not. Given that an illness is mostly provoked by microorganisms,
00:19:40
allergies are medical conditions which can appear at birth or which you can develop as you grow.
00:19:46
Allergies are commonly confused with intolerance. The last ones only cause rather minor symptoms
00:19:52
like sneezes, teary eyes, and stomach ache. Whereas in an allergic reaction, it's produced
00:19:58
gradually but fast and an anaphylactic shock which can lead to death if the corresponding
00:20:05
medication is not administered quickly. Wow, Alexia, those sound like very similar conditions,
00:20:11
but obviously one is more dangerous, right? The allergies are lethal while intolerances
00:20:19
aren't really much of a harm. Okay, so in your opinion, what would you say they are the most
00:20:26
common allergies in general okay so the most common allergies are the food related ones
00:20:33
since it's the substances primary access to our bodies the most spread ones are celiac disease
00:20:40
milk seafood and nuts there are also a high percentage of allergies to elements such as
00:20:48
pollen, fur, latex, nickel, mites and different medications.
00:20:55
So Alexia, you have complained many many times in the social media about companies and allergens
00:21:01
and how the topic is treated and so like can you tell us a bit of that in here?
00:21:08
Well many companies, most of them gastronomic, don't have special products for people with
00:21:14
allergies for two main reasons.
00:21:19
The first one is the huge social lack of information concerning these conditions and how sometimes
00:21:21
intolerances mix up with allergies which increases the allergic intoxication cases.
00:21:27
The second problem which leads to this situation are the high prices on products without allergens.
00:21:34
That's why those expenses are not always afforded.
00:21:42
Well, Alexia, I imagine lacking the ability to eat some of these things
00:21:45
might cause a lack of some nutrients and some vitamins and things like that in the body.
00:21:51
Can you tell us a bit about how can we substitute it
00:21:58
or how can we fill those gaps that not being able to eat these foods leave?
00:22:01
Sure, there are some possible sustenance for those nutritional needs.
00:22:08
well for example gluten can be substituted by corn or corn flour and chickpea flour
00:22:13
preparation can be a good option for eggs and talking about milk the most common substitutions
00:22:20
are in vegetable drinks but especially for hot drinks is good a adoption of soy milk but there's
00:22:28
a problem with seafood not unfit they are not so commonly used for cooking so they don't need
00:22:40
a specific substituent for them so they really don't have it so to put an example of a non-alimentary
00:22:47
one latex which also doesn't have an accurate substitution is often replaced by neoprene
00:22:55
vinyl or nitrile thank you so much alexia for this amazing time we've had today unfortunately we
00:23:02
don't have more time but I hope we can still talk some more time. Thank you so much for having me,
00:23:09
I've really enjoyed my time here today. Bye Alexia! Bye Kitty!
00:23:15
As everyone knows, technology has developed a lot compared to what is used to be 20 years before,
00:23:31
but with its development it has also targeted a lot of our lives. So I wanted to ask you about
00:23:39
How has technology changed our behaviour?
00:23:47
Social media has changed the way people discover and sell products.
00:23:50
For example, the influence of influencers on social media can have a significant impact on consumer purchasing decisions.
00:23:55
Influencers actually move a lot the way we behave, our manners, the way we talk, or even the activities we are assigned to.
00:24:04
Also, the internet provides constant access to information, influencing our learning patterns and making information readily available at any time.
00:24:14
Constant use of mobile phones during face-to-face interactions can result in distractions.
00:24:26
Notifications, calls and messages can interrupt care and create communication barriers.
00:24:33
I absolutely agree with you, but Carlos, do you know anything about the data collected by the companies?
00:24:40
Yes, technology is one of the best ways for companies to collect data on consumer behavior.
00:24:48
This is used to personalize offers and recommendations, creating a more relevant and engaging experience for each consumer.
00:24:55
I think you probably have seen the little ID which pops out whenever you get into our website.
00:25:03
a website. In other words, cookies. If you read all the information, it says that they
00:25:09
can get personal information in order to personalize the advertisements and offers you are announced
00:25:15
of. Also, some companies even pay money to other small companies in order to get your
00:25:21
personal information. This is mainly used by big businesses, which are just trying to
00:25:28
make you buy their products by advertising in different ways, depending on your taste
00:25:34
and likes.
00:25:39
Okay, Pablo, what are the main factors driving the rise of e-commerce compared to physical
00:25:42
stores?
00:25:48
Well, in my opinion, there's four main factors.
00:25:49
The first one being there's no physical interaction needed.
00:25:51
So it's better for old or lazy people that can't really walk to a store.
00:25:55
Yeah, yeah.
00:26:01
Or also for shy people who don't like physical interaction that much
00:26:01
or are uncomfortable with walking to a store.
00:26:06
Yes.
00:26:09
The next big factor is that a digital store like Amazon doesn't close,
00:26:10
doesn't have a closing time, so you don't have a time limit to go there.
00:26:16
So you can order a product very late at night.
00:26:22
Okay, okay.
00:26:25
The third factor is there's a really high variety of products.
00:26:26
In stores like Amazon, there's pretty much any product that you can think of, and there's a huge variety.
00:26:31
Number four is that if you live in a very remote place, like a small village, it's easier for an Amazon truck to get there than for you to go to the nearest city that can be hours away in some cases to buy something physically in a store.
00:26:42
Okay, thank you, thank you.
00:27:00
Yeah, there's more reasons, but those are the main four.
00:27:01
Oh, very good, very good.
00:27:06
Eric, what role did online reviews and social media play in influencing consumer behavior?
00:27:08
Hello, director Jacobo.
00:27:15
Online reviews and social media significantly impact consumer behaviors
00:27:17
by shaping perceptions of products and service.
00:27:20
Positive reviews and social media endorsements can build trust.
00:27:24
influence purchase decisions and enhance brand reputation oh very good conversely a negative
00:27:27
feedback can deter potential consumers social media platforms also serve as a venue for real-time
00:27:35
interactions allowing consumers to share experience and gather information further
00:27:41
influencing their choice and that is all the things i think we can social media can
00:27:47
can influence to the consumers and to the to the impressed okay very good thank you eric do you
00:27:53
think ads on the web page influences you when it comes to buying yourself clothes or other things
00:28:01
online i think sometimes you are influenced by ads and other times you aren't the degree of that
00:28:08
influence depends on how much you know about the thing you want to buy if you know a lot you won't
00:28:17
be influenced, but if you know little you might be influenced.
00:28:23
In conclusion, the advertisements are not bad, even in some cases they can recommend
00:28:28
better items than those you were going to buy in the beginning, but in some cases they
00:28:34
can make you buy things of worse quality.
