Hello, we are in the way at San Miguel Arcángel, a school in Moras Fregal, a village next to Spain. 00:00:01
This week we have been learning about Cervantes. He is a very famous Spanish writer. 00:00:23
He was born in 1547 and he died in 1617, the same day that Shakespeare was born. 00:00:29
He was born in Madrid and he lived in a literary area along with other Spanish writers. 00:00:38
He had a very difficult life and he lost an arm in the Battle of Lepanto. 00:00:47
To celebrate Cervantes we have read his stories, we have made colours to look like him 00:00:55
and we decorated our school. 00:01:03
Cervantes knows a lot, but his most famous story was Don Quixote de la Mancha. 00:01:08
Don Quixote is about a man who reads a lot of books about knights and he wants to become a knight. 00:01:16
He reads so many books that he expects to think that women are giants 00:01:25
and he imagines that Doquinea is a very beautiful princess that she is in. 00:01:30
Don Quixote travels around Castilla-La Mancha on his horse, Rotinante, 00:01:35
and with his famous horse, Sancho Pampa. 00:01:40
In Don Quixote de la Mancha there are noho sails that we will use today. 00:01:55
Spanish children learn about Miguel de Cervantes. We are very proud of him. 00:02:01
