You 00:00:00
Oops 00:00:20
Excuse me. Oh 00:00:21
Hello friends. Have you ever wondered where does the food go once it enters your body? 00:00:23
Sorry, well worry no more because I'll tell you all about the human digestive system 00:00:29
Come on what are you waiting for? 00:00:39
zoom in 00:00:42
Digestion is a simple process 00:00:44
Well large insoluble food particles are broken down into smaller water soluble molecules 00:00:46
So that they can be absorbed by blood and give energy to different parts of our body 00:00:54
The process of digestion has a few stages and I'll take you through all of them 00:01:00
come 00:01:06
Chewing is the first stage of the digestive system 00:01:08
When you chew your food the food particles break down into little pieces that are easier to swallow 00:01:11
The saliva which contains a lot of enzymes 00:01:19
Mixes with those food particles and helps break down those food particles even more 00:01:23
You 00:01:28
Once you have completely chewed your food the tongue helps to push the food particles down your throat 00:01:46
This process is called 00:01:53
Swallowing the food travels through a long pipe called 00:01:55
Esophagus also known as the food pipe 00:02:00
When the food particles have traveled through the food pipe their next destination is the stomach 00:02:04
Where those particles hang out for approximately four hours? 00:02:11
The stomach releases a lot of acids and enzymes 00:02:16
Which further break down the food particles so that these particles can be absorbed by your body an 00:02:20
Enzyme called pepsin present in the stomach helps break down the proteins 00:02:28
And a lot of bacteria are killed by a superhero the stomach so that we don't fall sick 00:02:34
You 00:02:50
Destination next the small intestine 00:02:57
Once the food particles reach the small intestine a lot of juices from the liver and pancreas 00:03:00
Help break down those particles the liver secretes bile which helps break down fats and the pancreas 00:03:07
Releases other enzymes to help digest all kinds of food particles 00:03:15
Now that the food particles are broken down the small intestine 00:03:20
Absorbs them and transfers them to our body through blood 00:03:25
You 00:03:37
The particles that are not absorbed by the small intestine reach the large intestine now the large intestine 00:03:45
Absorbs water and other particles and sends the waste material out of your body 00:03:52
trivia time 00:03:59
Did you know that a large intestine produces antibodies that help us boost our immunity? 00:04:01
You 00:04:15
When your face becomes red due to blushing 00:04:23
The lining of your stomach becomes red, too 00:04:27
So eat healthy digest healthy and live healthy tune in next time for more fun facts 00:04:30
This is me zooming out 00:04:37
