In today's video tutorial we're going to be covering how to change the dimensions and how 00:00:00
to rotate an object but with greater precision using the ruler tool and the online version of 00:00:04
Tinkercad. So we're going to start off by selecting an object. I'm just going to go over here and I'm 00:00:10
going to drop it on my grid like so. As you remember from previous tutorials you can click 00:00:16
on any of these points and you can change the dimensions manually but for today we're going 00:00:21
to use the ruler tool for greater precision to use the ruler tool you simply need to click it 00:00:26
and then you're going to drag it over and you're going to drop this little red circle at the zero 00:00:33
zero coordinates point so this is perfect because we can see that we have zero here zero here and 00:00:39
zero here you can change these coordinates if you want greater space you can also change the 00:00:47
dimensions in here for instance we can change the dimension of the height as so if you want to 00:00:53
change the space or see the amount of space between your object and the ruler point you 00:01:04
simply need to select this red circle and you're going to pull it outward like so 00:01:10
and you'll be able to see the difference let's see the space if you want to increase or decrease this 00:01:16
amount of space from the object you can click inside and change it so there's more space 00:01:24
there we go the point of the ruler is the spatial difference between the object 00:01:34
and your reference point with the ruler we can create a spatial reference 00:01:43
and you can change the dimensions like i already said um the width the height the length by 00:01:49
selecting these boxes so let's go ahead and just do that quickly we can also 00:01:55
rotate the object by selecting this kind of circular arrow right here and the 00:02:16
great thing about using the ruler is when you use it the dimensions of the 00:02:26
angles they're shown as you can see all the time on your grid same thing if you 00:02:29
add another object such as this sphere and so we delete the ruler you're just 00:02:35
going to click right here and then the dimensions will go away and that 00:02:44
concludes our video tutorial for today 00:02:50
