This summer course is intended for primary teachers and its purpose is to use artistic 00:00:00
representations and artifacts into the classroom. The course will explore how to integrate them 00:00:21
with the various inquiry-based teaching strategies and curriculum content development. It will provide 00:00:28
regionally based ideas for in-gallery museum education and in-class teaching. 00:00:34
The laid-out of the course will include daily museum visits and daily seminars 00:00:40
in which the development of visual and critical thinking strategies through 00:00:46
meaningful object-based learning activities and peer-to-peer discussions 00:00:50
will take place. It will encourage critical thinking to connect skills 00:00:55
across a wide variety of curricula. During the daily visits museums will 00:00:59
become the place that contains the answers to a set of proposed clues. The aim is 00:01:05
to use the museum as exploration field on a given topic. The museum then will 00:01:11
become a very useful prime resource. It is, above all, a hands-on course. 00:01:17
