Well, the first thing that we need to learn if we are a beginner in the study of technology 00:00:03
is what usually called project approach, is the method that technology usually use to 00:00:14
solve the problems that the society gives it and it is very characteristic so we are 00:00:24
going to explain it and we do a project in this course so we also do it. 00:00:35
I suppose that now you know at least a definition of technology. 00:00:49
I know it's very difficult because technology in general is quite difficult. 00:00:56
You can study information technology or you can study electricity, electrical technology 00:01:02
or so on, but technology in general is very very difficult to define, but I suppose now 00:01:13
you have at least a definition of it. 00:01:23
But what is the most characteristic of technology is its objective. 00:01:27
Technology creates tools, creates devices that help us to overcome our human limits 00:01:33
and in this way it eases our life. 00:01:47
But to do this, a very characteristic method which results is known as projects. 00:01:52
So projects are the application of technology and they are really interesting. 00:02:07
all the project has been developed using a method that we are going to describe 00:02:16
now approach and it has three main steps firstly the design after that we make we 00:02:27
usually may make the the thing that we have created we have decided and finally 00:02:41
with this this this thing this tool the device we taste we do some tasties with 00:02:48
some exams we write report in which we usually tell to other people is this is 00:02:56
a good solution or not as itself half difference step if you want to design if 00:03:10
want to solve something that humans or society ask you, the first thing that you should do 00:03:22
is searching information because nowadays most of the problems have something similar in the past. 00:03:36
so it's very useful for you to know what are different solutions in the history of 00:03:49
of technology after that you can create your own idea you need to choose the best idea 00:03:57
and express ads so develop the idea as consequence of the develop of this this idea you can know what 00:04:09
you are going to need to create to make the idea in a real life to produce to produce this so the 00:04:22
The first limit, the first difficulty that you usually have is express your ideas, why? 00:04:34
Because obviously you need to draw it and everybody draws but not only do you need to 00:04:44
to draw it, but also you need that the other people can understand what you have drawn. 00:04:56
So this is the main difficulty. 00:05:06
And to do this you need to draw under some rules. 00:05:10
So you can do a draft, that is something that is your idea and your express drawing, but 00:05:16
after that you need to sketch that. 00:05:27
You need to use some rules that are, in most of the cases, quite difficult. 00:05:30
And you also can do better if you want, as a draw, as a good draw. 00:05:39
To express your idea you need to use some rules and the main important rule is the European 00:05:49
system that you are going to study and learn in this course. 00:05:55
The European system expresses objects using the projection of the projects in the space. 00:06:02
Don't worry now, because we are going to learn slowly. 00:06:15
But now you need also to express the length of your project. 00:06:24
You need to express the limits of the part of the project, the dimensions of your project. 00:06:36
and it is really, really important if you want to do a good design. 00:06:45
A project usually has more than one part, so you need to know the different parts in your project 00:06:51
and also the materials and the quantity of each part you need. 00:07:03
This is the catalyst sometimes and it's very important because if you have a catalyst, you can know or you can plan in a planification. 00:07:10
You need to know a program with different tasks that you are going to do in order to make your project. 00:07:26
Not only the different steps of this project but also materials, tools, times and very often you also have to do a budget. 00:07:40
So this is part of a planification and this is part of the design of your project. 00:08:01
The design of your projects obviously need to be expressed, need to be written in a document. 00:08:09
And the document is the proposal, it's a proposal obviously, and it has these parts. 00:08:28
You have a cover page, an index, a memory in which you describe your project, mainly why you have chosen this idea and not others, a planification, a material list, tool list, budget, sketches, and cut list. 00:08:36
All these are parts of your proposal and we are going to do in a particular case, that I don't know what can be in this course, but I think it's good for all of you. 00:09:03
So, please now do the activities and we will see in the next video. 00:09:28
