Ramiro Domingos, 5th graders present William's Wish, starring, directed by and scripted by Faith A. 00:00:00
William was a very poor boy. He had very old parents. 00:00:15
He didn't go to school. He only devoted time to taking care of his family, cutting wood and setting it. 00:00:20
He also wasn't paid a lot, so he needed to wake up early and he finished late. To eat he only had a piece of bread. 00:00:35
He also had to work on the farm at weekends. He didn't have free time. 00:00:44
His mother died because of a shortage of food and medicine. His father was sad because of his wife's death, but William didn't have another option than to remain working to take money home. 00:00:51
That was the life of William and many more children who needed to work like adults. Today, most of the children don't work like adults. 00:01:04
Children today go to school to learn new things instead of working. They can play with other children and don't have as many responsibilities as adults. 00:01:14
Most of the children have many rights, such as the right to go to school and receive an education, and in many countries this right is protected. However, in some countries children still have to work very hard. 00:01:24
William would be happy to know that the world is respecting the lives and the rights of the children. 00:01:42

Descripción ampliada:
La Comunidad de Madrid, en su afán por mejorar la calidad de la
enseñanza del inglés, creó el I Concurso de Micro Films 2010/11
dirigido a los alumnos de 5º de Primaria de los colegios públicos
bilingües de la Región. Se trató de una iniciativa encaminada a
potenciar el aprendizaje del inglés mediante la participación de
los alumnos y los profesores en una actividad creativa como la
redacción de un guión y la posterior grabación de un cortometraje
en inglés.
