Hi everyone, it's Michelle, and today I am going to be reading a story called The Very Hungry Caterpillar. 00:00:01
So first, I would like you to listen to the whole story, and then once you are finished listening, 00:00:11
I would like you to create a chart with the days of the week. 00:00:21
This chart needs to have eight boxes. 00:00:28
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. 00:00:34
The chart is going to look like this. 00:00:41
With the first box stating the title. 00:00:44
The title is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. 00:00:49
And you just need a piece of paper, some markers. 00:00:52
or colored pencils or crayons and I would like you to read or listen to the story another 00:00:58
time and you will be drawing the fruits or the foods that the hungry caterpillar eats 00:01:08
throughout the story. 00:01:19
So for example, on Monday it eats one apple, on Tuesday it eats two pears, and you will 00:01:21
have to fill out Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 00:01:32
So this is what it's going to look like. 00:01:41
Alright, are you ready to listen to the story? 00:01:45
Good. 00:01:50
called The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. In the light of the moon, a little egg lay 00:01:52
on a leaf. One Sunday morning, the warm sun came up and pop! Out of the egg came a tiny and very 00:02:06
hungry caterpillar. He started to look for some food. On Monday he ate through 00:02:22
one apple but he was still very hungry. On Tuesday he ate through two pears but 00:02:38
he was still hungry on Wednesday he ate through three plums but he was still 00:02:53
hungry on Thursday he ate through four strawberries but he was still hungry on 00:03:08
On Friday he ate through five oranges, but he was still hungry. 00:03:24
On Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, 00:03:36
one ice cream cone, one pickle, one slice 00:03:44
of Swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, 00:03:54
one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon. That night he had a stomach ache. 00:04:08
the next day was Sunday again the caterpillar ate through one nice green 00:04:23
leaf and after that he felt much better now he wasn't hungry anymore and he 00:04:37
wasn't a little caterpillar anymore he was a big fat caterpillar he built a 00:04:50
small house called a cocoon around himself he stayed inside for more than 00:05:02
two weeks then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon pushed his way out and he was a 00:05:11
beautiful butterfly all right that is the end of the story okay everyone do 00:05:26
not forget that by the end of this story you should have the chart with the days 00:05:41
of the week and the fruits the caterpillar has eaten all right bye bye 00:05:49
