Hello lovely students and welcome to a new Boost Appeal! Today we are going to be talking about
00:00:00
some personal pronouns including subject, object, possessive and reflexive pronouns.
00:00:08
Are you ready? There we go! Let's start with subject pronouns. They function as the subject
00:00:16
of a verb. And they are really well known. I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they. Some examples?
00:00:25
I love swimming. They went shopping yesterday. Let's continue. Now with object pronouns. They
00:00:38
are used typically as the direct or indirect object of the verb or the object of a preposition.
00:00:50
Me, you, him, her, it, us, you, them. Some examples. Luthier gave him the present.
00:01:00
Lúthia gave him the present. John wants to come with me. Crystal clear? Good!
00:01:15
Let's continue right now with possessive pronouns. They show ownership or possession,
00:01:24
indicating that something belongs to someone. Here we have to distinguish two different groups.
00:01:32
First of all, dependent possessive pronouns, also known as possessive adjectives.
00:01:40
They are very, very easy.
00:01:48
Y siempre acompañan al sustantivo al que se refieren.
00:01:51
No lo olvidéis.
00:01:56
They are my, your, his, her, its, our, your, their.
00:01:57
Examples.
00:02:07
my house, your cat, our students, no problem. On the other hand, we have also
00:02:08
independent possessive pronouns. Estos nunca preceden al sustantivo al que se
00:02:17
refieren, cuidado también. And they are mine, yours, his, hers, ours, yours and
00:02:25
theirs. For example, that house is mine, this cat is yours. Finally, we are talking
00:02:36
about reflexive pronouns. They are used when the subject and the object in a
00:02:48
sentence are the same. Myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, and
00:02:55
themselves. A couple of examples. Don't worry about the plants. I'll water them myself.
00:03:08
Las regaré yo misma.
00:03:17
She often talks to herself when she's stressed.
00:03:19
To herself.
00:03:25
Habla con ella misma cuando está estresada.
00:03:26
Is everything clear?
00:03:31
Let's double check.
00:03:33
Let's translate a few sentences including pronouns.
00:03:35
Let's see.
00:03:40
Number one.
00:03:40
¿Es ese nuestro coche?
00:03:42

00:03:45
No, es suyo, de ella.
00:03:45
Okay, is that our car?
00:03:54
No, it's hers.
00:03:58
Number two.
00:04:01
Robert hizo esta camisa él mismo.
00:04:03
Robert made this shirt himself.
00:04:14

00:04:22
La mía está rota.
00:04:26

00:04:34

00:04:38
Number four.
00:04:41

00:04:43
They never listen to us.
00:04:52
And finally, number five.
00:04:57

00:05:00
Yeah, Mary caught herself with the knife while cooking.
00:05:05
Well, how was it? I'm sure you did it great.
00:05:18
Well, and that is for me today.
00:05:23
Thanks for watching. See you soon. Have a great day. Bye-bye, guys.
