Technology has been changing our life. It helps us to improve and develop our society and it is indeed easier in our lives. 00:00:02
We can develop our society and we can reach different objectives, creating new objects, creating new technologies. 00:00:23
But it also has a dark side. 00:00:39
It also has some drawbacks that in this unit we are going to discuss, we are going to analyze 00:00:43
the way how technology is developing, the way it is changing our life and also the drawbacks 00:00:56
that are consequence of its uses. 00:01:06
they can be the index of the lesson. First of all we are going to talk about history of technology 00:01:12
through history of humanity and the importance of technology. After that we are going to 00:01:20
revise what is technology, how technology works in our society, in real society, because we 00:01:28
we have been studied technology and using is do apply application of technology in a technology 00:01:38
way but it is some application that are focused on educational improvement know what society indeed 00:01:49
needs so this is the the differences between the educational technology or 00:02:01
the technology we learn in in school and the technology of real life there are a 00:02:10
very different aspect which are completely different and it is important 00:02:20
also then marketing as a motor of technology because economic nowadays in our society is 00:02:28
very important and as a consequences some of technological developments are consequences of 00:02:36
this of some economical uh objectives or targets and finally we are going to discuss about the 00:02:45
drawbacks some dropbacks of uses of technology in our society so let's move on to the first 00:02:56

development and the first human people obviously can overcome their their limits their physical 00:03:13

And they discovered the fire, and after that they can, with the fire they can use different metals, bronze, iron, to do better tools. 00:04:28
and it was very important in different cultures in the world and to develop different states of humanity. 00:04:46
But there is not so important technological revolution until the steam engines. Steam engines change the way we make our objects from artisanal to another types. 00:05:00
So we can have cheap objects and everybody can have these cheap objects to improve their life. 00:05:24
It was the first technological revolution, industrial revolution and nowadays we are in the third technological revolution or the third industrial revolution. 00:05:36
It was another second industrial revolution in 19th year, which can improve the quantity of products in the market. 00:05:51
And as we are going to explain, more products in the markets means less prices, so people can buy it very easily, more easier than before. 00:06:06
So it made us to develop our society and nowadays we are in the third industrial revolution with robots and automatic methods of production without humans. 00:06:26
It makes the product cheap and better and it also has another thing because obviously people who have worked in this industry and the industry needs to change its jobs also. 00:06:49
So, sometimes it can be a drawback for society or for humans, as we are going also to analyze. 00:07:16
Well, the project approach in real life has two steps. 00:07:28
In one step, we design the product. 00:07:36
And to design the product we do this difference step. We need to design, we need to do a model of this product and some proof in this model in order to develop perfectly the model. 00:07:39
And after that we need to design the manufacturing product, we need to design the quantity, we need to design the machines, we need to design what type of manufacturing we need. 00:08:00
All these parameters are connected with economic things because, in the end, all of this is part of companies. 00:08:15
Companies can make something or can be service companies without making something. 00:08:33
In any case, all of these parameters are important because they are part of the economical parameters. 00:08:43
So, in any case, if I want to design an object, I need to analyze objects. 00:08:55
I need to analyze its morphological, the shape of this object and as consequences the materials 00:09:02
and obviously if you are doing a morphological analysis you also need to choose the tools 00:09:13
and the process to do shape, to perform these materials and to do the things. 00:09:26
But obviously it is very important to do a functional analysis, because in the end we 00:09:36
need the object to do something, to make something, so its function is the most important thing 00:09:44
in the object. 00:09:52
In engineering, it is usually said that each object has two main parts. 00:09:54
The structural part, which can be the morphological part, and the functional part. 00:10:01
The systems are completely different, sometimes the morphological is the structure, so it 00:10:08
just only can support some forces. 00:10:14
In other words, the functional analysis can have a different system, a mechanical system, 00:10:18
a field system or a control system or so on. 00:10:27
A technical analysis is also important. 00:10:32
In technical analysis you can take into consideration different aspects. 00:10:35
But one of the objects in the technological analysis can be obviously the tools that you 00:10:43
will need to do this object. 00:10:56
Maybe if one of the tools is computer, what is connected with computers. 00:11:03
Economic analysis is very important in our society because we are living in a consumption 00:11:11
society and economical is a very important factor. 00:11:18
So it's part of our, it's always connected with technology. 00:11:24
Something don't give us enough money in a company, the company don't produce obviously. 00:11:30
most important the aesthetic aspect the historical aspect but for me one of the 00:11:40
most important thing is sociological analysis and its consequences because 00:11:49
ethical is very is part of technology and it must be taking taken this must be 00:11:56
taken into consideration in any case if you damage people you mustn't produce this this thing 00:12:03
you think i mean the mass people as we can say a marketing and economical factor is very important 00:12:14
In this slide, we have how we can get the price and quantity of equilibrium, which means that if we have the supply, more quantity, more price, obviously. 00:12:24
But the demand is opposite, because more quantity the price is lower, if the demand is higher the price is lower. 00:12:46
So between two functions there is an interaction point which is the price of equilibrium and in which point I can see the better price, the best price and the best quality of production. 00:13:05
So, before to create a production line, we need to do a very important marketing study. 00:13:27
As we can see, in a company is where we protect, we implement this project approach. 00:13:39
So it's important that we know the organization in a company. 00:13:55
Companies nowadays can be also service companies, so in this case the production department 00:14:01

in which you do the budgets, you take into consideration the amortization and when you 00:15:12
need to, when you can buy a new machine or renew the machine and so on, in order to have 00:15:22
a good company and with good benefits. 00:15:30
Well, as I said at the beginning of this presentation, there are some problem consequences of the 00:15:37
uses of technology. 00:15:49
We can divide it into two main types, environmental problems that I know that everything knows, 00:15:51
For example, also sun, also lows, desertification, the change of climate, losing of weather and 00:16:00
also the acid rain and so on, there are a lot of environmental problems, consequences 00:16:10
of the use of technology and also social problems. 00:16:20
example what happened with people that need to adapt to new technology and sometimes it can do it. 00:16:25
Other thing is for example the programming obsolescence. 00:16:36
The obsolescence is a consequence of use of new technology. Technology has been developing very 00:16:42
very very quickly and some products are very low very very soon this is what you 00:16:50
