So who is this course interesting for? 00:00:38
Well first I'd say for people, anybody who's worried that their students can't understand 00:00:41
what they read when they read a text and can't write a coherent text when they sit down to 00:00:47
do that yes and if you think reading comprehension is the basis for learning and success at school 00:00:53
and if you have tried different things that didn't work well at school in that case this course is 00:01:01
for you tell us what teachers will be able to do by the end of the course well the first thing i'd 00:01:09
say is you're going to learn how texts make meaning that is how to analyze deconstruct a text 00:01:15
so that you can make explicit to your pupils how that text makes meaning, understand it and 00:01:22
write similar texts. You'll be able to design teaching sequences based on a text on reading 00:01:29
and to assess your pupils' writing. And you can help your students read at different levels of 00:01:37
comprehension which in fact means that you are teaching critical reading okay 00:01:46
yes that's all sounds good and what else what else well we have 00:01:53
