Two butterflies went out at noon, and rolled above a farm, then stepped straight through 00:00:00
the firmament, and rested on a beam, and then, together bore away, upon a shining sea, of 00:00:13
never yet, in any port, their common men should be. 00:00:22
Spoken by the distant bird, if met in either sea, by frigate or by merchant man, no notice was to me. 00:00:27
Good morning. 00:00:36
Ethan, are you okay? 00:01:06
Yes, just feeling a little tired. 00:01:09
Ethan, when this is over I would like to talk to you in my office, okay? 00:02:06
There's something important I want to mention. 00:02:31
See ya. 00:02:33
Yeah? 00:02:36
Come in. 00:03:00
Hello. 00:03:02
Hey. 00:03:04
Ethan, I've noticed that you're really sad lately, and I don't want to see you like that. 00:03:07
I think that you really need to talk to someone that can help you, right? 00:03:14
Ethan, are you listening to me? 00:03:18
Thank you, I'm fine. I'm just having a bad day. I don't need help. 00:03:21
Okay, I just wanted to make sure that you understand that we can help you. 00:03:26
Okay, you can come and talk to me when you want, right? 00:03:30
Okay. 00:03:35
Bye. 00:03:36
Bye. 00:03:37
To create, it's a difficult endeavor. 00:03:40
First, you struggle to find an idea, the target at which you will shoot. 00:03:42
When you finally have an idea, you'll need to hone your craft, fine-tuning the shot to then build on it and tweaking and refining it so that it gets closer to what you had originally envisioned in your head. 00:03:47
And our heads? Oh my gosh, our heads are like a junk drawer full of live debris that sit there, waiting to be recycled. 00:03:59
We roll up his sleeves, open the drawer, and bang. Chaos. 00:04:08
A quick scan reveals a lot of what-nots. You think, hey, I can't put off the cleaning anymore, and start getting rid of what it seemed useless. 00:04:14
It's not easy. There seems to be an emotional link to all of those little bits of memory, so you need to sit still, stay silent, make room for new ideas, and start all over again. 00:04:22
But that hurts. We tell stories to ease the pain. It is ingrained in our DNA. It has wired our brains through the years and men. Our brain is what makes us who we are. 00:04:34
We create an identity with the stories we have been told and the ones we tell ourselves. 00:04:45
Sometimes, we're thrust into a journey of self-orientation, which consists mostly of decay because what it incites is painful, frustrating, and even traumatic. 00:04:51
When we emerge, we're a completely different person, like a chrysalis breaking free of its cocoon or an earthquake caused by gradual and imperceptible tensions over a long span of time. 00:05:03
It's not like in movies or novels where people change suddenly and abruptly. Characters are captured in a time capsule where they will stay forever to be gazed upon by generations after generations. 00:05:16
Yikes! 00:05:36
What? Nothing yet. 00:05:37
I think I have something. 00:05:41
Life is different. You do not notice the build-up, just the release. When this happens, you need to run away, gain distance, try to resolve, fail, stop to take a breath, and then try again. 00:05:46
In short, we make our way in fits and starts. Change is slow. 00:05:59
In the end, there's a magic moment when by telling a story, we synchronize with other people. Our frontal cortices lit up together to form a long-lasting link. 00:06:05
What's that? 00:06:19
Surprise. 00:06:20
For me? 00:06:22
Yes. 00:06:23
Thank you. 00:06:26
Loving. So stressful. It's like an uncertain trip. I feel disgusted by people's pretenses and illusions. I'd rather be alone. 00:06:35
