In this video, I'm going to briefly present my learning situation entitled Time to Eat.
00:00:00
I'm going to contextualize it by giving some information about my students.
00:00:04
They constitute a very heterogeneous group of people attending English as a foreign language at ASEPA.
00:00:08
They come from many different countries such as Georgia, Colombia and Peru.
00:00:13
And in general, they show a great interest in learning English as they find it useful in their everyday life.
00:00:16
Regarding accessibility, I will follow some criteria to ensure that all of them can perform the task successfully,
00:00:21
like being flexible when assessing their performance or working in small groups to
00:00:27
reduce their differences. The methodologies followed are brainstorming and role play
00:00:30
because they will work in groups to come up with ideas and then to act out a conversation.
00:00:35
So the learning situation consists of performing a conversation between a waiter or waitress and
00:00:39
two tourists who want to order food in a restaurant in London. Several resources and materials will
00:00:45
also be available for them. Finally, their performance will be evaluated using three
00:00:50
different tools. Direct observation, a self-assessment checklist, and a peer assessment rubric.
