Hello, we are in San Miguel Arcángel, a school in Morafoncal, a village next to Madrid, in Spain. 00:00:02
We have been learning about Cervantes. He is a very famous Spanish writer. 00:00:10
He was born in 1547 and he died in 1617, the same day that Shakespeare was born. 00:00:15
He was born in Madrid and he lived in a literary area along with other Spanish writers. 00:00:24
He had a very difficult life, and he lost an arm in the Battle of Levante. 00:00:31
To celebrate Cervantes, we have read his stories, we have made colors to look like him, and we decorated our school. 00:00:39
Cervantes knows a lot, but his most famous story was Don Quixote de la Mancha. 00:00:53
Don Quixote is about a man who reads a lot of books about knights and he wants to become a knight. 00:01:01
He reads so many books that he starts to think that women are giants and he imagines that Don Quixote is a very beautiful princess. 00:01:09
Don Quixote travels around Castilla-La Manza on his horse, Rocinante, and with his famous work, Santa Pan. 00:01:18
The meeting that Don Quixote does to us in the books is to defend the helpless and do what knights do in the books simply. 00:01:26
In Don Quixote de la Mancha there are many sayings that we will use today. 00:01:35
Spanish children learn about Miguel de Cervantes. We are very proud of him. 00:01:41
