Welcome young adventure to another exciting episode of the police adventure. I'm your host 00:00:00
Marcos and I'm your co-host Diego. Today we're journeying back in time to ancient Greeks 00:00:16
to discover the fascinating world of the police. Imagine a small community where people have 00:00:23
written rules and live it together. 00:00:33
That's what Apollos was in ancient Greece. 00:00:36
It's like having your own little town 00:00:38
where everyone knows each other. 00:00:41
And what's super cool is that these Asian Greek communities 00:00:44
were some of the first place with democracy. 00:00:48
That means people had a say in how things were run. 00:00:51
But all your horses adventures in Apollos, 00:00:55
Only 13 people called citizens could vote. 00:00:59
Citizenship depended on being born in that place. 00:01:03
And usually it was only guys who could vote. 00:01:07
Girls could vote but could be part of religious ceremonies. 00:01:12
And the most famous police was in Athens. 00:01:18
Citizens gathered and voted on things that affected their cities. 00:01:22
They even had a system where regular people could be chosen for important jobs by a lottery. 00:01:29

Atoms became a signing example for other places trying out this new way of governing. 00:01:41

Sometimes police joined together for protection against enemies forming leagues. 00:01:51
Yeah, but you know what, Victor? Even though these communities were united, they sometimes had trouble studying that voice for a long time. They had conflicts with each other over land and resources, just like kids sometimes argue over toys that write and help. 00:01:57
But you know what's amazing? Even though ancient Greek polices had their challenges, the idea of democracy stuck around. We still use different forms of democracy today in many countries. 00:02:17
And guess what adventures the lake sea of the Greek polis live on? 00:02:33
You can even find the word polis in the names of cities like Minneapolis in the USA. 00:02:39
