Minerals can be made from a single element or pore, like wood.
00:00:31
They can also be made of a combination of elements.
00:00:38
All minerals have crystal structures.
00:00:43
Minerals. Each mineral has different composition and unique structure.
00:00:54
They have different color, crystal structure, luster and hardness.
00:01:00
Thanks to these properties, mineralogists can classify minerals.
00:01:06
Colors. Minerals have different colors. For example, quartz can be pink and cobalt is blue.
00:01:13
Crystals structure. Minerals have different size crystals. For example, sodium crystals, as well as quartz crystals have six sizes.

Luster. Minerals have different colors. Some reflect a lot of light and look silver, like diamonds or gold. Others reflect less light and look dark, such as rocks.
00:01:47
Hardness. The hardness of a mineral consists on its resistance to scratches. We can scratch the mineral with other minerals, mint or pine objects. Minerals can be very soft, soft, hard or very hard.
