En este arreglo muy parecido al anterior vamos a ver cómo diríamos nosotras en inglés. 00:00:00
Empezamos con un punto que es lo más fácil porque se dice prácticamente igual en inglés que en español. 00:00:05
If we want to say 7 o'clock in the morning, we say it's 7 o'clock AM or it's 7 o'clock in the morning. 00:00:33
If we want to say that it's 7 o'clock in the afternoon, we say it's 7 o'clock PM. 00:00:45
Now, let's practice with a quarter past. 00:00:54
A quarter past. 00:00:58
What time is it? 00:01:00
It's a quarter past and the time 00:01:01
It's a quarter past six 00:01:05
It's a quarter past five 00:01:12
It's a quarter past four 00:01:20
It's a quarter past one 00:01:25
It's all time the same 00:01:31
It's a quarter past eleven 00:01:34
In Spanish we first say the time, the hour 00:01:38
And then we point at the minutes 00:01:43
But in English we say the opposite way 00:01:46
First we say the minutes and then we say the hour 00:01:48
So first we say a quarter past and then we say eleven 00:01:52
It's a quarter past eleven 00:01:57
If you see this picture, the clock is divided into two parts. 00:01:59
This part is in real because we are going to use the word past to say how many minutes passed since it is 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 o'clock. 00:02:05
So, quarter passed. 00:02:20
If the long needle is pointing at the six, then it is half past, because it has passed already half of the clock, half of the hour. 00:02:21
So right now it is half past two, half past three, half past four, half past five. 00:02:35
First, we look at the long needle and we say the time half past 00:02:50
And then we look at the short needle to say the hour 00:02:56
Write the opposite as in Spanish 00:03:01
In Spanish we say cinco y media 00:03:04
In English we say y media plus cinco 00:03:08
It's half past five 00:03:12
Now we are going to move on the other half 00:03:15
the red one 00:03:20
in this half of the clock 00:03:21
when the long needle 00:03:23
is pointing at any 00:03:26
point in the red 00:03:28
part of the clock 00:03:30
we are going to use the word 00:03:31
to, to say how many 00:03:33
minutes are left 00:03:36
for the 00:03:38
next time 00:03:40
it means how many minutes 00:03:41
till the long needle 00:03:43
is pointing at the twelve 00:03:45
again 00:03:48
So, imagine that the long needle is pointing at 9. 00:03:48
Then we have to use the word 2 because the long needle is now in the red part. 00:03:56
It's a quarter to 12. 00:04:04
And as you see, the short needle is not pointing at 12 because it's not 12 o'clock yet. 00:04:09
It's almost twelve, but not yet. 00:04:16
So, it's quarter to twelve. 00:04:20
Right now, it's quarter to eleven. 00:04:27
It's quarter to ten. 00:04:31
It's quarter to two. 00:04:40
It's quarter to one. 00:04:43
It's quarter to five. 00:04:49
First, we look at the long needle. 00:04:54
then we look at the short needle 00:04:57
to say the hour 00:04:59
so let's say it again 00:05:00
depending 00:05:03
on where the long needle 00:05:04
is pointing at 00:05:07
if it's in the red part 00:05:08
then we are going to use the word 00:05:10
to, a quarter to 00:05:13
if the long needle is 00:05:15
at any point 00:05:17
in the green part 00:05:18
we use the word past 00:05:20
a quarter past 00:05:22
or half past 00:05:24
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 00:05:26
Con cuarta pasada exactamente lo mismo. 00:05:56
Cuarta pasada, pasada porque el nivel largo es... 00:06:00
