Hi everybody, as you know this year we are going to read Kenske's Kingdom, so today we are going 00:00:06
to see the new vocabulary that we can find in the first chapter. So as we have seen we are going to 00:00:13
read Kenske's Kingdom which is written by Michael Morpurgo. Now we are going to see the vocabulary 00:00:22
in the first chapter whose title is Pegisu. We are looking for a verb whose definition is 00:00:32
fooling to doing, not be honest, and also to cheat. And that verb is deceive. Here we can see 00:00:45
where we can find that verb in the first chapter, all of whom I have deceived for so long. 00:00:58
A new word, talk nonsense, is to give a. 00:01:04
A new one, high-pitched cry, is to screech. 00:01:12
And here we'll see that children give a and screech and hang upside down. 00:01:18
We can see here a picture with an adjective that's it was muddy down there. 00:01:26
that's the word sentence we can find in the first chapter we can find here a 00:01:35
different picture with a boy bouncing the ball so in the chapter we find they 00:01:43
seem to expect the ball to bounce for some reason we can see here three 00:01:51
different pictures and all of them refer to some words in the first chapter a 00:01:57
moor a tract of open uncultivated upland typically covered with heather which is 00:02:05
which appears in the other pictures I wanted to go mountain biking up on the 00:02:15
moors now we are going to some vocabulary related to boats first one a ship's kitchen it's called 00:02:21
the galley another one the captain or driver of a boat is the skipper and the last one is that 00:02:35
he is the person who rose at bow of both and that's the bowman now the front part 00:02:48
of the vessel is the bow the back of the vessel is the stern the right-hand side 00:02:58
of the vessel is the starboard and the left-hand side of the vessel is the 00:03:07
pole you can see here a picture with the bow at the front stand at the back starboard at the right 00:03:17
and pod at the left now here you can find the same words in spanish because maybe you don't know how 00:03:28
to say those things in spanish so we've got the proa which is the front part of the boat in spanish 00:03:38
the popa which is the back part of the boat in spanish estribor which is the right side and 00:03:51
babor which is the left side and in spanish there is a line which is the central line of the boat 00:04:00
which is called the crujía okay now some synonyms a synonym of laid off and not needed at work is to 00:04:08
be made redundant and in the text we find they were both being made redundant i thought she meant 00:04:24
forever and we find in the text i thought she meant for good a synonym of awful but it's lousy 00:04:34
and a synonym of salary its wage and we can find in the text there's only one lousy wage coming 00:04:47
