hello boys and girls today I'm not going to do my beautiful drawings I have done 00:00:00
these mind map and that you will have available to and I'm going to explain it 00:00:07
on this okay so this is our review of the unit four of the unit energy okay 00:00:13
the one that we did when the quarantena started okay so we haven't studied it in 00:00:20
class only here with a computer okay so energy what is energy energy is the 00:00:25
ability of something to perform at work okay to do something really okay it's a 00:00:31
bit complex that concept but it's just the ability to work okay there are many 00:00:38
different forms of energy in the world these are the forms of energy do you 00:00:45
remember mechanical which can be potential or kinetic potential energy is 00:00:50
the one that an object has just because it's in an up it's up okay it's in the 00:00:55
top of something this is the energy it has because it can fall okay thanks to 00:01:02
gravity this is the energy that it has okay kinetic energy is the energy that 00:01:07
any object has when it's moving right chemical energy is the energy that you 00:01:12
can find in fuel or in the food that you eat. You eat the food, it has 00:01:19
proteins and carbohydrates and fats and that gives you energy to move. 00:01:25
Electrical energy that you can find in many different house 00:01:32
appliances. The nuclear energy that you can get when you break 00:01:36
the nucleus of an atom, radiant energy which is the light, thermal energy which 00:01:43
is heat, and sound. Sound is also a type of energy. So these are the different 00:01:50
forms of energy. Remember it's very important that the energy is never 00:01:55
created or destroyed, it just changes the form. So for example the energy 00:02:00
that is in, I don't know, in a chocolate bar that you eat is a chemical energy 00:02:07
and you transform this chemical energy into kinetic energy for example if 00:02:12
you're running okay and you use this energy that the food gives you it's the 00:02:17
same with lots of different processes of energy many energy do you remember the 00:02:23
exercise we did about the water the water in the in the reservoir has 00:02:30
potential energy because it's up when you open the door las compuertas the 00:02:35
water falls down so this energy is transformed with the turbines into 00:02:41
electrical energy okay but first has potential energy and then kinetic 00:02:45
because it's moving okay it rotates okay so this is important that energy is 00:02:49
never created or destroyed it just changes the form where does energy come 00:02:54
from different sources of energy okay do you remember there is renewable energy 00:03:00
that means that it never runs out for example solar energy will always have 00:03:05
the Sun okay well maybe in four thousand billion years it disappears but we don't 00:03:10
count this as as an end of the solar energy okay we have eolic energy because 00:03:16
of the wind hydroelectric energy do you remember it's also renewable because 00:03:22
thanks to the Sun the water cycle is always renewing okay and the biofuels 00:03:27
Biofuels are made sometimes with the excrements of living things, or with the dead bodies 00:03:33
of living things, things that are also created, that we also have, we'll always have. 00:03:41
Then we have the non-renewable energies, for example petroleum, it will run out anytime. 00:03:50
Natural gas, though it might be confusing because it's natural, but there is a limited 00:03:56
amount of natural gas in the in the world so it's a non-renewable energy the same with coal 00:04:01
and uranium which is the the element that we use for the nuclear energy okay all these types of 00:04:08
energy are non-renewable that means that they run out okay there's a limited amount of these 00:04:15
sources of energy right okay do you do you remember that renewable energies have 00:04:22
um they are good for nature and non-renewable energies have some problems like the acid rain 00:04:29
or pollution okay deforestation they have different problems okay and then and the other 00:04:36
important thing about this unit was saving energy okay you remember saving energy is good for the 00:04:45
environment and remember to save energy there are many things in the book they say lots of things 00:04:51
about the the houses with special kinds of roofs but important things for you to do are the three 00:04:56
r's okay you have to remember reduce that means use less things okay don't use a lot of things 00:05:03
if you can only use one for example if you have a mobile phone and it works perfectly why do you 00:05:10
have to change it you don't have to change it just because a new model has been in fashion okay 00:05:16
if your mobile phone works you don't have to change it okay this is reduce you don't need to 00:05:22
have many many many things because then what do you do with them okay this is just creating more 00:05:28
waste so reduce important reuse when you have something that you don't use anymore hello 00:05:32
when you have something that you don't use anymore and you can give it another opportunity you can 00:05:38
use it for another thing these are the typical things like for example with the cartons with 00:05:45
different papers, you can use them again or you can create new things. And recycle. 00:05:50
When you finish using papers, you have to recycle them in the blue bin. When you 00:05:54
finish using glass, you have to recycle them in the green bin. Remember to 00:05:59
recycle the things that you cannot use anymore. So these are the important 00:06:03
things about energy. 00:06:07
