Job interview
Come in. Hi, are you Tania? Are you here for the job of year?
00:00:00
Yes, I am.
00:00:06
Great, I was waiting for you. Sit down here, please.
00:00:07
Can I leave my coat there, please?
00:00:09
Yes, sure. How have you arrived? Have you found the location well?
00:00:11
Yes, I came in my car, so I have no problem.
00:00:18
Perfect. So, let's start with the interview.
00:00:21
Well, then you come for the job of a doctor on the third floor with children, right?
00:00:24
Yes, I'm so excited about it because I recently finished my practice at the university.
00:00:31
Okay, so looking at your curriculum, I've seen that you live nearby, right?
00:00:37
Yes, I moved on a short time ago, but I live in Mellon, Chicago.
00:00:44
Okay, cool. Do you live with your family or you have become independent?
00:00:49
I've become independent with my partner, so I'm so happy.
00:00:55
Okay, do you have any brother or sisters?
00:00:59
Yes, I have one older sister and two years less brother.
00:01:03
And have you had any experience with children?
00:01:08
Yes, I have been monitored this summer with children and it was a super experience, so I enjoyed it so much.
00:01:11
And do you have a medical career, right? So in what university have you attended?
00:01:19
I did my first year of university at New South University at Australia and then I finished my study at Stanford University.
00:01:25
Okay. That university offers very good medical qualification. Many collaborators of our staff have been trained there.
00:01:35
So what do you specialize in?
00:01:45
I did a master in pediatrics because I love children and I want to work with them.
00:01:48
Now that you have finished the internships, you won't have anyone to guide you.
00:01:53
Do you look ready to work alone?
00:02:00
Yes, I was in hospital, I used to be independent so I think I'm very qualified.
00:02:03
Okay, how were your days at practice?
00:02:12
I would arrive at 8 and I put out the medications and then check that all is right.
00:02:16
At first I was not doing so much because I'm only a student, but then I worked with doctors and patients and yeah, it was cool.
00:02:25
Okay, very complete.
00:02:37
Here in pediatrics the rhythm of work is not very stressful but nevertheless we usually work more hours
00:02:39
so the timetable will be 8 to 3 if you work in the morning and 5 to 11 if you work in the afternoon.
00:02:48
Okay, that is not a problem for me because I have no family responsibilities.
00:02:56
Okay, how about your languages?
00:03:01
I speak English as my maternity tongue, but my father is Spanish, so I'm fluent in Spanish.
00:03:04
As in other languages, I speak a little bit of French because I studied it in high school.
00:03:12
Okay, that is so important because we receive passion of all nationalities.
00:03:19
In your curriculum, we have seen you have been living in Kenya for a summer doing a voluntary job with children, right?
00:03:24
Yes, it was the best experience of my life and I learned a lot to value my life and the things that we have and hopefully I will go back next summer.
00:03:33
That's so interesting. Now I want to know something about you and what you think about your future. First, what else have you worked on?
00:03:48
During the career, I work in part-time contract jobs as a waitress in the shopping center
00:03:58
and like life work and to pay my career, so yeah.
00:04:08
Okay, could you tell me what do you usually do in your free time?
00:04:16
I usually go running and I love read a lot.
00:04:21
okay and could you tell me what you look like in five years probably I would like
00:04:27
to have a family and work as a doctor because it's the thing that I like okay
