I'm Sadie. I'm from Denver, Colorado, originally from Wisconsin, which is very interesting. 00:00:00
So sometimes when I'm dancing, people will say, you know, expecting to hear, oh, where are you from? 00:02:28
They want to hear something exotic, somewhere from the Middle East. 00:02:33
And I go, yes, I'm from somewhere far away in land and time. 00:02:36
And then they say, where? 00:02:41
And I say, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. 00:02:42
I've been pretty much involved in some type of physical sports my whole life, 00:02:45
whether it's gymnastics mostly, swimming, other forms of dance. 00:02:52
So I really love movement and moving my body. 00:02:57
And just started taking classes. 00:03:01
My first introduction to belly dance was classes. 00:03:03
I don't think that I actually ever even really saw a belly dancer before I took classes. 00:03:05
It just sounded interesting. 00:03:10
It just popped in my head, and I said, hmm, belly dance. 00:03:13
My first teachers were from Denver, Joy Nan and the late Phaedra Amira. 00:03:18
They were really good teachers. 00:03:23
They were both very much strict on the technician, like the technical part of the dancing. 00:03:25
