Hello, and this is Elizabeth, and today we will be working on English 5, Unit 5, Lesson 4, Sequencing Words. 00:00:00
So today we'll be talking about how to use sequencing words, and I will read you a little bit from the book 00:00:14
so you'll know how it sounds and exactly how sequencing words work. 00:00:21
So first I just want to tell you what they are. So what are the sequencing 00:00:27
words? The first one we have is first. So first would be used for the first thing 00:00:33
in the story or the first thing that happens. So that what happened first. Then 00:00:41
we will be talking about then see what I did there okay so you can't use then 00:00:48
until after you've used first after then you can use next so that's just saying 00:00:57
next this is what happened and then after that we will be using after that 00:01:07
so after that is after all these things happened this happened and then finally 00:01:16
the word is finally so if you start your sentence with the word finally you are 00:01:24
pointing to a conclusion that's happening in the story or whatever 00:01:32
you're talking about in the frame of how the events are numbered so this is gonna 00:01:38
to be first, this is going to be last, and all these three you can use in the middle. So I know 00:01:44
if you open your book to page 49, there is a box with a number two on the right hand corner. And 00:01:52
I'm just going to read you what's in that box so you can listen and you can really hear me use 00:02:00
these words. Okay. This is a typical day at the Ace Adventure Club. And I do want to remind you, 00:02:07
this is on page 49 and in your English book, and you can follow along as I read it. 00:02:17
A typical day at the Ace Adventure Club. The adventure begins at 8.30 a.m. First, you can try 00:02:24
abseiling or kayaking. The first activity is for two hours and there's a short break for a drink 00:02:32
and a snack. Then you can choose to go mountain biking or horse riding. We stop for a picnic lunch 00:02:39
and a rest at 1 p.m. Next there's archery or skateboarding for an hour. After that choose to 00:02:47
ride the rapids and go rafting on our ace adventure raft or put on your helmet and drive a go-kart 00:02:56
around our ace cart track finally your awesome day of sports ends with a certificate at 5 30 p.m 00:03:03
every day is an adventure at the ace adventure club what are you waiting for so in that little 00:03:12
excerpt, they just show you first, then, next, after that, and then finally. So I just wanted 00:03:20
to make sure that you all understood how those worked. All right, thank you for watching my video 00:03:30
and in the next video, I will be sharing with you my morning routine and I will be using these words 00:03:36
as an example. All right, see you next time. Bye! 00:03:43
